It’s too merciless and unforgiving to garner any long term attachment from players. You’ll see in about a year, majority of the player base will have left. Asking for game modes from 2006 won’t solve anything.

It looks cool and I'd have bought it if it were a single player shooter. But I just don't play multiplayer stuff at all. It's just not a side of gaming I'm interested in. If I wanted to interact with other people, I never would have gotten into it in the first place.
The player count keeps going down. I don't think this game is salvageable unless they make it free and do some major overhauls. Regardless, it is a failure due to the budget and time/money spent to make it. I don't see how Bungie recovers from this now they are owned by Sony.
