Maxing out character affinity grants different buffs. Stats, in my opinion, only unlock learning courses, speeding up character recognition and learning.I focused on accumulating money early on, buying everything available in the shops. Basically, anything costing over 500 was quite useful. However, you can only use one cat per week, and personally, I felt the stats and money it gave were rather meager.
