Pretty fun gameplay, completed it in one day and got the good ending. I'm yet to get the other two and also play the second game. Story was pretty decent, and enjoyable, although sometimes I had problems hearing the dialogues between shooting bad guys. AI is straight dogshit but I let it pass since this came out in '03.
>>736552767yes i liked it when i replayed it two years agothe gas boss fight was janky af tho
>>736552767Yeah I remember playing on my mom's laptop when we moved to another state, and I had no friends. It was pretty decent, and free more importantly.
>>736552954I spent 10 minutes running around the arena trying to find a way to cover the hatch the nigger had died on, didn't realise you had to trap Hermes inside the furnace and close the door lol
>>736552767janky but good series.never understood why all the retcons in the second game but it was an enjoyable experience.
>>736552767played it like 20 years ago so I don't remember much besides the fact that it's full of cheap jump scares. never played the sequel. definitely plan on revising it.
IM P SURE THIS GAME TECHINCALLY WONT HIOLD UP ANYMOREIT WAS LIKE 9/10 SCARYI PLAYED IT LIKE 6 YEARS AGO AFTER PLAYING THE BEGINNING WITHA FRIEND AND THE 2ND ONE BUT DIDNT FINISH THE 2ND AS YOU GET STUCK IN JANKY SECTIONS WITH ENEMIES JUST KILLINGYOU STILL
It was edgy but fun. Like the enemies with like blades for limbsand skating on it that was cool.
>>736554529the sequel is the better game imo but it has quite a few unnecessary retcons for whatever dumb reason. it is also full of cheap juimp scares but they never really do any damage to you so whenever that happens just keep going anyway.I also like this easter egg:https://youtu.be/duNlPwCtNxE
>>736552767Holy shit this just unlocked a memory I remember my cousin had this game, just the box art (not this one, version with bigger needle eyes guy) was enough to scare me as a kidNow I just have to replay it
>>736552767Played it around 10 years ago, stopped at some point to come back later but never didI should probably pick it back up, i remember it being kino, and i think i must have been around 85% through
>>736552767The Suffering is one of my favorite games from the 6th gen. It's an absolute shame that this and The Ties That Bind have never gotten a re-release for any modern platforms.
One of the few memories of the game I have is opening an asylum cell and seeing a squirming body with no legs or arms so I shoot it and get a good karma flash of the guys wife saying "you're a good man"
