It should have been obvious a month ago that they're leaving this game out to die.

So their tactic, rather than trying to improve this game, is to give subpar updates until everyone leaves and then pay journos to say it was the bad chud gamers fault?

Thank God they did, it was unbearably broken
>>
>>736553991
I remember when Anthem devs literally patched the fun out of the game immediately after players started exploiting drop rates for actual good/fun loot. Like all hands on deck shut it down now. The game died shortly after. It was unironically more popular and a bigger hit than this shit
>>
>>736554298
sunk cost fallacy.
No amount of spending or dev time will rescue this game before the next earnings report is due, and as soon as investors see the financial black hole they'll demand it be axed to save money.

Only private companies can get away with spending a year+ to fix a bad game (like No Man's Sky) because they have no investors to answer to, and even NMS had a massive initial injection of cash to justify it.

Marathon couldn't even make back dev costs on releases.
>>
>>736554290
>>736554350

Marathon is the most visually clear game I've played recently, you just suck at articulating your point.

>p-particle effects!
You mean the LCD walls? The thermal scope? The bullet trails? Only one of those is a particle effect, and trails are a staple in mostly every shooter.
>JARRING COLORS!!
>WEIRD FUTURISTIC SHIT!!
That's called art style, fagmo. It's also a very clean style, for your information.

They threw so much good money after bad on this one.
>>
>>736554447
I recall when they did that to launch destiny, there was a place players would hang out and it would just spawn enemies constantly.
>>
>>736553991
esports killed these kind of video games.
it's no longer about the player having fun, it's about nerfing everything into the ground and forcing people into a specific way of playing the game to preserve the 50:50 outcome
>>
>>736555919
Something knife related does happen, the guy in the bubble shield lands one knife attack that eats the entire purple shield and then 60% of the regular health.

>>Marathon is the most visually clear game I've played

>I pity you.
This is in fact what a clean visual art direction looks like. Are you daft? Clean = proper lighting, beveled edges, solid colors, minimal grime or other damage textures, simplified models with easy to read silhouettes. All of this was done intentionally so a Runner racing through the map can clearly and quickly identify what is loot, an enemy, an interactable part of the terrain; every second counts in an extraction shooter so this art direction is brilliant.

You bloody imbeciles need to stop butchering the English language and actually learn what the meaning behind terms are.
>>
>>736556402
>Up until this weekend they were still showing Marathon ads on Amazon prime and Netflix.
Player count got as low as ~8600 last night. Doesn't seem like they were getting much return on that investment.

At the very least they're very dedicated to the nerf/toys aesthetic.
>>
>>736553991
this was so incredibly common in destiny. sorry guys I know you’ve been bitching about quests bugs but we really needed to nerf these things that were benefiting the player in our once per quarter patch
>>
>>736557396
If you could see through your flesh you would notice that human articulation mirrors articulation in machinery. These are artificially created beings that need to articulate and operate the same as their biological counterparts; in short, of course bio synths have doll joints.
>>
>>736556897
You couldn't be a more blatant paid shill if you tried. I didn't think anything of your product but our interaction today alienated me. I won't purchase your product and I'll make sure to shit on it from now on. Make sure to show this post to your employer.
>>
>>736557581
It's a video game. 3d models should only reflect artistic vision. If your vision is that you think the logical conclusion of android bodies would be doll joints, alright.

The bright colors, plastic-looking panels everywhere and nerf guns just make me think "why does everything look like it came from the toy aisle?" though.
>>
>>736554209
It probably won't happen until the end of the year. At which point, we'll have had the US mid-term elections, GTA VI, The Game Awards, Gabecube, and the announcement of the next-gen consoles. No one's gonna care by then. I imagine that's Bungie's strategy at the moment. To die in obscurity so that the Bungie brand avoids any more battering.
>>
>>736557396
>>literal action figure kneecaps
Maybe the super cheap ones from 30 years ago, the ones that care more about quality do a better job at covering up the joints

That's because you tool bags all have your brains turned to mush from jerking off too much to ai generated content; everything you see is blending into itself. You have no concept of distincting visual art styles anymore. Everything is everything else now. That's the future you chose.

You literally have bunny hopping, slide cancelling and momentum preservation. You even have entire server spawn right next to each other to force pvp in the first minute of the raid. This is literally and I'm not joking apex legends with meta progression.
>>
>>736558735
And yet you haven't shown that guy a single second of good movement. I was on the fence for marathon because I actually liked arc but unironically you shills have done a great job of NOT selling me on the game and I feel like I dodged a $40 bullet.

I'm not a bungie employee you dumb nigger. I'm not gonna shill the game I'm just saying calling it overwatch is subhuman iq behavior from a retard who never played any games.

Also I'm 32 i'm too old to be jumping around like a retard and close quarters with shotgun. I just creep slowly and kill people from behind.

I think it's funny how like half of the point of this game was the hero abilities or whatever, but every clip I see is people call of duty oneshotting each other with guns alone.

Surely the game would have been a little bit better if they increased the TTK 4x and made movement actually feel good? So you could have real fights? As opposed to everybody walking around like they've got shit in their diaper just to keel over when they get hit by a stiff breeze?
>>
>>736556635
What are you talking about? It's clearly TWO different hits, not one.
I don't see how a melee weapon that takes at least three hits to kill in a shooter is remotely overpowered.

running servers is peanuts compared to developing the game and then slopservice. And sony can't take another PR hit on live service. it'll be in maintenance mode for years.
>>

>proper lighting, beveled edges, solid colors, minimal grime or other damage textures, simplified models with easy to read silhouettes

You forgot to mention nightmarish eye-searing color vomit that makes simply looking at the screen physically painful.
>>
>>736561025
It took 2 hits before nerfs. And especially on duo it was really annoying with people camping in corners since it's basically a one shot and now you're playing 1v2.
>>
>>736555709

>>
>>736555630

>>
>>736561227
This anon has it right. Shutting it down would cost more money than keeping it alive on a skeleton crew. They'll just burn money on it until there are actually no players then quietly drop it when no one is looking anymore
>>
>>736560972
A longer TTK would be a great idea provided Bungie wanted to cut the few remaining players down by 90% again. Especially 4x longer. Jesus Christ.
>>
>>736561468

Honestly the only reason I stopped once I got to Outpost/Cryo was the dogshit performance I get on my low end PC. This game allocates almost everything to the CPU and I'm getting sub-60 on Outpost because of it.

Interesting how all the high TTK games are doing well (arc raiders, apex legends, deadlock) are doing well, while low TTK shooters (tarkov, bf6, marathon) are dead as shit

But nah I'm sure people love spending 15 minutes in a match just to die in .5s, you right.
>>
>>736556402
Those ads were probably purchased months ago, and you can't get those things refunded. It's the same reason they went ahead with the Concord episode of that Amazon animated show even though it didn't come out until after the game got taken offline.
