And this might just be my own issue, but I could never fix the footstep sfx bug from the original ME1. Pretty much every issue in the LE has been fixed with mods. Get the unofficial/community patches, ALOT, MELLO, LEUITM/LEUITM2, Pinnacle Station mod, Genesis Begone, Hud Enhancements, and Myriad Pro Begone. There are other good ones I could recommend but those are the essentials. If you like there are other mods that focus on giving the same look as the OT but those are sidegrades imo.
