Why are modern gamers so afraid of pvp? Is this a consequence of the covid boom in video games during the 2020 lockdowns? I feel like pvp vs pve was never an issue before, if anything gamers tended to be a little disappointed if a game didn't have both co-op and versus, but these days there is a heavy shift. I know PKing was annoying for some in MMOs but it was never seen as a detriment of the genre. Now modern gamers demand their games to not have pvp even as an option.
What do you mean? The games with the highest player counts are PVP games. Stop trying to shove your cancer onto PVE stuff
