Why are modern gamers so afraid of pvp?

Is this a consequence of the covid boom in video games during the 2020 lockdowns? I feel like pvp vs pve was never an issue before, if anything gamers tended to be a little disappointed if a game didn't have both co-op and versus, but these days there is a heavy shift. I know PKing was annoying for some in MMOs but it was never seen as a detriment of the genre. Now modern gamers demand their games to not have pvp even as an option.
>>
What do you mean? The games with the highest player counts are PVP games. Stop trying to shove your cancer onto PVE stuff
>>
Pvp is just boring and overly repetitive in most games.
>>
>modern gamers
lol. I see uncs here seething about pvp all the time. They exclusively play shitty singleplayer slop and try to look down on live service CHADS. Even souls threads. Mention pvp and they start throwing a tantrum seething because they're dogshit at the game. Throwing around excuses like "there's cheaters". It's actually embarrassing.

I never liked pvp. I've never played a pvp game beyond quick matches with friends many years ago.

Why you people want to force people into playing pvp so badly?
>>

People have been bitching about Deadlock not being a PvE Mann vs Machine type game since the alpha first leaked. Funny enough, it IS getting that as a mode because of the complaints over the past three or so years.
>>
>>736568879
Arc Raider redditors complain that the game was pvp/pve instead of pve
>>
>>736568773
because no one I have ever played pvp against has any sort of restraint, honor or respect for anything. human beings behind a screen cannot stop themselves from acting like absolute cunts.

this is why the pvp only genres are dying out. the wolves pushed all the sheeps away by raping parent corpses and throwing feces and their offspring
>>
>>736568773
I don't play any multiplayer games. I play games to avoid you faggots, not to interact with you.

The days of casual pvp lobbies are long gone, thats why.

Its just sweats vs scrubs, wasting countless hours for a $5 gift card and everything in the game suffers for it.
Then you have all these rats script kidding cheats and spamming misinformation, fake ass drama and ragebait so they can farm tiktoks for ad revenue
Then theres all the clowns who doxx or get the twitter mob riled up because they lost a game, sometimes not even that.

It turned entertainment into a second rat race, fuck em, complickers can stay in their containment zone.

>do the stanky leg on some dweeb
>connection gets ddosed offline
>social media + family and friends get spammed with gore/csam
>get swatted
Ah jeez I wonder why mister.

>dying
lol. Meanwhile actual multiplayer pve games such as MMOs are actually dying. The only pvp genre that's fallen out entirely is RTS games. Fighting games, shooters, battle arenas all are fine with millions of monthly active across the genres.

MMOs, extraction games, soulslikes, survival crafting games, even fucking fighting games are seeing pushback against pvp. The world has changed, there are a lot more faggots now than it was 20 years ago. It all correspond with the rise of microplastics, phthalates, BPA levels in humans, RNA vaccines causing autism and troonism. Sheltered environments (safe spaces), online echo-chambers and social media algorythms. Modern pedagogy like teaching kids about faggotry, troons and handing out participation trophies even though they suck at what they're doing. Even fucking regular old ass sports are seeing a downward trend due to competitive endeavours being seen as something masculine and toxic that has to be eradicated. This is no joke.

If you are one of those guys that complain about "tryhards" in a pvp game I just assume you are a major pussy.
>>
>>736571295
That's fine, I just assume try hards have no real accomplishments irl so they have to cope that way

The biggest tryhards make more than you, bench more than you, fuck more than you, have a family, cook their own meals, have hobbies besides games. This is delicious casual cope from shitters who want instant gratification and have never worked for anything in their life besides their minimum wage part-time job.

>and it's still not enough
hmmmm
>>
>>736571889
Please provide sources for your claims, so far this just seems like vane idealism for the sake of opposing any contrasting opinion that goes against your belief.
>>
>>736571729
Or maybe people just like putting effort into things they do? If anything the people getting mad about it are the ones we have to be psychiatric for
>>

>three or so years
What? Deadlocked was only revealed like a year ago
>>
>>736568773
PvP is just boring. It's just shooting each other over and over again.
>>
>>736572085
It's about having fun.
>>
>>736572364
Early alpha was 2023 and slowly opened more over time, becoming way more known in mid 2024.
>>
>>736569082
That's because it's a moba. Everyone has tried one at some point and either fell into addiction or rejected the entire concept.
