In 25 years the GBA is going to be smaller than the current equivalent of the Deck's trackpad.

I fucking love the Gameboy Advance
>>
>>736589137
I recently had to replace my phone. I fucking hate how huge my new one is. I'm pretty sure its a bit longer than a gba although obviously not as thick.
>>
Sigh... The GBA is such a cool console. If only it were a little smaller so it could fold up and fit in my pocket
>>
>>736589514
ever heard of the "ess pee"?
get this, its a slightly smaller, more foldable gameboy advanced.
>>
>>736589904
Wow! So cool! But I mostly play at night, so unless the screen was backlit, portability would all be for naught.
>>
>>736589514
um bro, your gba micro????
>>
>>736590013
have i got news for you, its got a light, and you don't even need to waste the link cable port with a worm light either.
that's right, the light comes from BEHIND the screen, like some sort of back light.

I think Ayn Thor perfected the handheld shape and features. Shame they wouldn't do symmetric option for the thumb sticks. Got to hand it to these chinks they did it right this time.
>>
>>736589137
Timmybros....
>>
Clamshells like the ayn thor should be the norm
>>
I have the steam deck and desu I never really feel the need to play on it, it cannot even play most ps2 games with the 60fps patches activated which sucks.
>>
I like how big the Steam Deck is. My OLED screen is fucking beautiful.
>>
>>736590245
My hope Nintendo goes back to that. The Switch 2 is too big and heavy. Batter life also sucks. I'm fine if the Switch 3 is only 1.3-1.5x stronger than the Switch 2 if it means having better battery life and smaller form. Besides it will likely have DLSS 4.0 to do most of the heavy lifting.
>>
Who actually plays games on the go? I'm too embarrassed to even browse my phone for more than 5 minutes in public, let alone whip out some giant autism machine with a screen showing a dumb mass video game
>>
>>736590621
>I'm too concerned for the opinions of others, I bow my head constantly and kiss my corporate groom master's feet daily as a humiliation ritual to feel complete in my void-filled life. Yes master, please master, how may I please you more master?
lol. That's what you sound like, a slave always looking to please others rather than yourself. Not an ubermensch material.

Thor or vita is a good cutoff point. Anything bigger won't fit in the pocket. Someone really needs to make a pspgo sized clamshell.
>>
>>736589489
Kek tiny hands havin ass
>>
>>736589137
The Deck is too big for GBA games
The GBA is too small for PC/console games
Games on the GBA were designed for the GBA
This isn't the case for the Deck, so it needs to be bigger as the game you play were made for TVs and Monitors
>>
>>736591894
The GBA is too small for its own good. Screen should have been 320x240 pixels
>>
Needs to be pocket sized like the vita. Thinking about getting an Energizer Apex (30,000 mah) when it comes out. It'll be heavy, and probably won't work with a controller mount, but long life battery, and durable, waterproof. Low spec though it seems.

But you do need a lot of battery with portables. Otherwise you are bound by power outlets or solar. You can get good 40watt solar chargers now though that are like a couple/few A4 sheets big.

Glass/Solid state batteries should make phones/handhelds great soon. And electric motorbikes. Coating a Van in solar could be an actual thing. Still need to replace bearings and wheels though. Probably more economical to fly than drive too. Especially considering how much roads cost. But service stations and motels are cool. And a breakdown on a road isn't the end of the world. It's the stone age 2 if you crash in the middle of nowhere without an EPIRB or a sat connection. You're fucked.

This message brought to you by Energiser.
>>
And portables can't have a fan.
It will get dusty.
>>
>>736589137
One is a toy for children, the other is a device for men
as shrimple as that
>>
>>736592508
They can they just need to increase the depth axis slightly. Fans do not need to big or loud either. Its a mystery for these fuckers though.
>>
>>736592508
>And portables can't have a fan.
The Odin 2 Mini does
>>
>>736589137
psp is the sweet spot. Vita size is also fine.
>>
>>736589137
3DS is the upper limit, since it's still pocketable. Barely, depending on what I'm wearing.
I thought Switch/Steam Deck would be fine until I actually tried traveling with them.
>>
>>736592508
All decent chinkhelds have fans.

steam deck is the worst of both worlds
too big and expensive for a handheld emulator
too weak to actually run anything with graphics above the ps3
>>
>>736590718
>>736590761
>>736591807
It's still kind of amazing how Snoy made the perfect successor to the PSP and completely buried it with overpriced proprietary memory sticks and poor 3rd party game support.
>>
>>736595331
Surely people will stop enjoying a handheld with millions of playable games because some recent AAA slop doesn't run that well anymore.
You did it. You defeated whatever you're fighting.
>>
>>736595431
>completely buried it with overpriced proprietary memory sticks
Ain't that the truth.
It was the memory card cost that put me off buying a Vita. I was honestly fucking stunned when I saw the pricetag on the shelf. Purchased a 3DS instead, that very same day.
>>
>>736595331
modern cards struggle to run that shit

steam deck is for elden ring and virtually anything before it. it's not for ue5 slop
>>
do you know how bad it feels to be 6.7 inches and body believes you and refuse to see your dick even after you insist on showing it to prove yourself?

there isn't any AAA games worth playing in the last 20 years.
I could think of maybe 3 and that's being generous.
>>
>>736589137
Deck's screen is a bare minimum for games not specifically designed to be playable on a tiny screen. It's not a device you could take anywhere, but it completely replaced a gaming PC at home for me. I quite literally don't want to play on a PC ever again.
>>
>>736595792
>no tripleA game worth playing in the last 20 years

huh?
>>
>>736595889
>I could think of maybe 3 and that's being generous.
Are you an ESL, pedantic or retarded?
>>
>>736589137
The Steam Deck or equivalent device could easily be the size of a backpack. It could even have straps so you can carry it around on your back in public and show everyone that you're a hardcore gamer.
>>
>>736595331
>AAA slop
All my porn games are running great.
>>
>>736595331

>>
the ambernic rg34xx is goated
>>
So should I buy an AYN Thor, Steam Deck, Vita or something else? I already own a Switch 2.
>>
>>736590171
Haven't owned a handheld since psp and I felt like buying this but the longer I think about it, the less sense it makes
As in, what do you play on this? Way overkill for emulation, everything else cheaper and smaller can do that, I use my phone for that. So what, Fortnite, Minecraft and android slop shovelware? What's the expensive specs for? With steam deck you actually get a shitton of real windows games
>>
>>736599635
what's your budget and what are you trying to do with whatever device it is
>>
>>736599635
>so should I buy *devices that have nothing in common*?
What do you intend to play?
>>
>>736590030
>um bro, your gba micro????

Fuck you! I just folded my GBA Micro up and it shattered into pieces.
>>
how can any adult male play on an sp form factor without their hands getting fucked up

don't even have gorilla hands i have normal to frankly somewhat smaller hands
even the og gba is a little smaller than what i would like
>>
>>736589137
I want my handheld screen as big as possible. I no longer care at all about pocket portability. When the deck can play basically everything, it needs that big ass screen.
>>
>>736599635
considering you already have a switch, i'd get a deck so you can tap into pc games as well
>>
>>736595331
The Deck was supposed to be Valve drawing a line in the sand for developers.
>Make it run on these fixed specs or you lose a ton of customers
Devs were incapable of doing so.
>>
>>736589489
I still miss my lumia 735.
Anything bigger than that is just silly. That thing fit my hand perfectly and could use it with just one.

>>736599835

Jrpgs, price doesn't matter
>>
>>736589137
Just a preference on size or how big your hands are I guess.
>>
>>736589137
Switch Lite is the upper limit of an acceptable size for a handheld.

30 years later and we're back at the Game Gear conundrum. Sega was truly ahead of the curve. I think the Switch 2 is great but holy fuck is the battery life terrible.

>>

Deck (if they still have stock) or a reasonably priced second hand N3DSXL/LL.
I recently got a 3DS from a japanese ebay seller in great condition for about $150 and it was very easy to mod and change the region.
>>
>>736595331
Retard. AAA games fucking suck anyway
>>
>>736595331
You will never make anyone who has a deck hate it. It's a childhood dream device. The kind of thing "that kid" used to lie about having on the playground.
Cope.
