The first 3DS game got popular in Japan, they released an enhanced version with the evil team playable (Burst for the west) and then they released an anime but timed it with what was supposed to be a spin-off game (shinovi versus.) That style of gameplay/alternate universe got more popular with PC ports and the Vita shitting the bed and becoming like $20 on clearance while the real 3DS sequel got overprinted. Then it became a mobile game region locked to Japan and people act like it died and they didn't decide to do a time skip for a new game this year. Meanwhile the hack that promised Senran Kagura 7 left the company and apologized in Japanese magazines for not being able to finish the game. But you don't see that because the last foreign media tour was for the pinball game before he left.
