I wouldn't mind if it were a little bigger since this is more of an AAA game compared to Automata's AA game, but there were way WAY too many load screens between sections that are right next to each other. Also take more advantage of the platforming too.The only other things I want are getting rid of the QTEs (if you can turn them off why have them. It still looks awesome but I don't know why they're there) and having a better script (it was certainly serviceable and I'm not looking for something that tries to tackle philosophical questions and what have you, but most of the plot they went to space. That's a lot of wasted potentially kino moments).Also, better subquests. They weren't horrible, they just needed better motivation than the simple quest fetches they were most of the time. Maybe add some more short escort and defense subquests along with things like killing X amount of Naytibas to get DNA samples to upgrade some ability or your sword. Something that actively rewards you for choosing it. It would also be cool if we could do that drug dealing quest too, but I'm not holding my breath.It's been awhile since I've played it since I want to play other games atm but I remember liking the combat a lot and thinking the actual gameplay part was solid. I think the parts outside of that range from good like the aesthetics/graphics and the fact that this can run on mid-range hardware perfectly well to serviceable. I think a sequel can and will improve upon that if the team focuses on those problems and the feedback they got from the people that played the game.

>>736697345It's definitely AA to me. It's just Unreal makes it easy for devs to make a game look like a AAA game and have the same visual gimmicks. However if you look closely under the hood, it's clear SB is nowhere near as polished as a AAA title. There is a lot of budget decisions to pad the game which is something AA games do especially when they go out of scope which in SB's case was the addition of open world sections. Otherwise it's pretty clear the game was supposed to be a linear 10 hour action game. Especially noticeable when Lily is supposedly one of the main characters yet she doesn't exactly become talkative until you reach the space elevator mission which depending on how long you take doing the great desert and wasteland areas, it's the latter 3/4ths of the game, which is really really late.

The game needed some more environmental variety. The fact that the game had 2 fuck huge open areas and that both of them were deserts is inexcusable no matter how you slice it. Ideally I'd say the game shouldn't have any of those big open areas and should just be composed of smaller more structured levels.
