>>736634387What about Haze?
>>736634387*blocks your path*
>>736634537Haze had a structured single player campaign you silly boi
>>736634387i was hyped for that game back in the day, what a disappointment
>>736634387I have this game in my physical collection. Only played it a bit but as far as I know this game was an online shooter where you could do everything offline as well.So it's not a concord because even if the servers are shutdown for BRINK you can still play and 100% it.
>>736634761Oh. Fair point. Guess that eliminates >>736634560 too.
>>736634387You say that anon, but it actually sold a lot.
>>736634387Yes
>>736634387One thing about Brink that is actually good was the menu music.
>>736634761Brink also had a structured SP campaign. The MP was not necessary to play it.
>>736634387it sure was
>>736635016I had to scroll through the godawful Xbox app to verify that I in fact beat this game 15 years ago. Jesus fuck.
>>736634387>read random shit from fanfiction.net>writer dedicated half a chapter on hyping up Brink out of nowhereI wonder how he does now.
>>736634387My black best friend hyped this game up to hell in junior high school. He is dead now killed in a gang shooting.
>>736634387>flopped so fucking hard no one even remembers it for the failure that it was
I always had an admiration for Brink. Really like the overall aesthetic / feel of the game. It was my first exposure to a blatantly multiplayer only game.It had singleplayer of course but it was just a private server with bots, maybe some cheap cutscenes or some voice acting thrown in at points. It was just the dumb little game that couldn't. Ill always remember it fondly even though its pretty crap lol
>>736634387Brink had a singleplayer component and can still be played today. The first MP only console release I remember shutting down in a generally short time was MAG. I'm not counting the death of gamespy or the 2010 xbox live shutdown for the original xbox. Hellgate London could be played SP though it ended support basically immediately. Planetside Arena and Dust 514 also come to mind. Tribes Ascend made it four or so years.
>>736635512Do you blame Brink for his demise?
>>736635659This game was honestly a lot of fun, it just lacked content. It was pretty barebones. I remember a clone of it came out a few years ago and people praised it for its novel movement style that was ripped from a 2009 FPS. I think it also faded into obscurity.
I liked Brink and the only problems I thought it had going for it was the shitty servers. Dirty Bomb is literally just a less-customizable Brink with worse maps, and it did amazing.
>>736635751>Hellgate LondonWhat happened with that game? The ads looked good, people seemed hyped, and then - nothing.
>>736635789No black culture. He was cool until he went to college then he became a raging BLM anti white guy. We used to play it the forest and larp as Castlevania characters and he even let me whip him like Simon Belmont
>>736635979Flagship Studios exploded basically immediately on release of Hellgate London. It received support for less than a year before Flagship went bankrupt and spun off its IPs. Being the first lootershooter, it cost a lot of money to make the engine and get the networking functional as no one had done it before and they couldn't swim after release. It got bought up by a Korean company and is now nothing like it used to be. You can still play the original through London 2038 though.
>>736634387Kek, true!
>>736636236Was it a good game?
>>736635226Why do you have to be a retard posting redditfrog? Can't you be normal?
>>736636392No, not really. Did you ever play Secret World?
>>736634387but brink was actually good
>>736636392Sort of. It had a really stupid subscription model on a game you had to pay for. You could play free or pay a sub for more usable QoL features. This was of course not popular. However, it was also the first lootershooter, paving the way for Borderlands and Destiny. The combat was pretty fun and the setting was really neat. It had a ton of hype behind it because the studio was all ex-Blizz back when that meant something and it was going to bring the Diablo formula into 3D. I preordered the collector's edition... 19 years ago. While it had its definite and obvious flaws, it had good bones and I think London 2038's release of the game has made it better. A solid 5/10 on release and currently a 7/10.
>>736636479Because pepe represents hating niggers and faggots and anything that's niggardly and faggoty, even by emulating either to extreme degrees, and because of that it will always make people who are nigger-faggots uncomfortable to be around it the same way they would be a giant swastika being right next to them. >mup dup fodap beat dat ass if you get pepe near meI once threw a nigger off the grand canyon and I got away with it because people assumed it was a hiking accident, but I brought him all the way from Atlanta in my Porsche.
BILLIONDOLLARFRANCHISE
>>736634387>concord>Hehe the first concord guisE.T. will always hold that title, brink wasn't bad it was just mediocre at the time. If the parkour wasn't such ass and leaned a bit into mirrors edge's more it probably could've been better. The maps were a bit eh at times, and the class system felt closer to a shitty battlefield than the supposed "TF2 Killer." Not to mention the game still has small community servers, albeit very dead ones but people still play it from time to time. Hell, I can at least still fucking boot this up and play with the bots. Along with that, the game wasn't an explosive fucking failure it was just one of those games swept up with the console era.
Concord Zero
>>736636570>A solid 5/10 on releaseyeah that was the thing. it had a huge hype train behind it, like daikatana levels. it was alright when it came out but all the dumbass monetization behind it really fucked it over
>>736634387Stop parroting ET you retards that game sold millions the notoriety came from the fact they printed in excess and had to be literally physically disposed of. It sold a lot
Notice how all these games have heavily over-designed characters seemingly made by ADHD fatsos and always lean heavily "diversity = 100% gay niggers" crowd.
>>736636816ALL UNITS BE ADVISED. FEMINISM IS AWESOME.
>>736636816Delete this don't give Sony anymore ideas

>>736636816>Duke Nukem Forever>Aliens Colonial Marines>BattlebornImpressive how Gearbox pulled this triple whammy in just 5 years
>>736637160>Duke Nukem ForeverWhat are you talking about? DNF was actually good, it got 8's and 9's across the board. They're doing another duke game soon enough as a follow up.
>>736636479>erm actually pepe is trans or something ok Chud?Baited no one awardYou will never take our frogs from us.
>>736635750I played it twice at their booth at Gamescom. I still have that promo shirt I wear when painting or doing handywork around the house. I bought it on release and finished the campaign rather quickly. Overall, I had fun with it on the show floor, so that’s why I bought it—but what I didn’t know was that there wasn’t much to it, just repeating the same missions all over again as MP missions. It burned out quickly because they didn’t push content that hooked people, including me. But I’ll also remember it as an overhyped blunder that failed to deliver and had no staying power whatsoever. TF2 did it better.
>>736636853This game won’t die. I recently read some gibberish that they’re working somewhere on a Hellgate: London 2, and that there was some sort of fan project. I think I’ve played like three or four versions of the game by now in different states, and none of them were really good. The setting seems cool, but the execution has this barebones 2004 MMO feel to it, where everything is minimal, clunky, and there to be grinded.
>>736637457backing this up
rentfuckingfree
128 vs 128256 PLAYERS ACTION PACKED GUNPLAY NEVER BEFORE SEENI vaguely remember being unimpressed with this but don't really remember much about it.
>>736635008are you telling me I can go play brink kino right now? is the sp just bots in mp maps?
>>736636643The man with KEK on his shirt
>>736634387I remember an advertisement for this in my copy of Fallout New Vegas on PS3
>>736638695It's free on steam. It has two full SP campaigns.
>>736637457>They're doing another duke game soon enough as a follow up.Soon enough relative to Duke releases anyway.
>>736635659This game was actually cool as hell. It flopped because it required DX 10, which was Vista only at the time, and everyone hated Vista and refused to upgrade.
>>736640528>The gap between Duke Nukem Forever's release date and now is the same as the gap between Duke Nukem 3D and Duke Nukem Forever
>>736638301All I remember is that maps were quarantined into 4 segments so 99% of the time players were never actually encountering more than 32v32. If by some fucking miracle you managed to collapse 2 fronts then you'd see an actual 128v128 fight for the final like 3-4 minutes of a match, but even then it was so fucking laggy and unresponsive i remember people actively avoided capping some zones to deny the finale shit show.
>>736640687life is 3-4 duke nukem games.
So are we just pointing fingers at random games and calling them concord now?

>>736638001holy shit it's real...
>>736634387Except Overwatch was a good game.
>>736635659It was basically a tech demo, which is a shame because it was pretty neat.
>>736635659ruined with the firepower patch, RIPcan't even buy it anymore but i have very fond memories, the scenes of tracers flying around while you're silent running in a suit is unique
>>736638301Played a bunch of it, was my favorite console shooter before Destiny. No idea how popular it was but I never had trouble finding games the 3-4 months I played it.
>>736634387The characters proportions were so fucking weird and goddamn did the guns feel awful to use

>>736643563based
>>736634963The music was really too good for the game.https://youtube.com/watch?v=VrEuWlWG8O0Brink had a lot of good things about it. The setting was really unique, the art direction for the scenery was great, it had a lot of really interesting ideas going on in the background. It's just none of those good things had an impact on the gameplay itself. It needed a couple of more months in the oven. It needed more playtesting. Splash Damage rushed it out the door for no good reason.
>>736634387Never played it, but I liled the environmental design conceot art.
>>736634387I'm still weirdly fond of it, maybe because I can play as a police officer gunning down hordes of immigrants to "save the arc".Yea, I think this was the start of my nationalism.
>>736641656I just swapped between two SMGs with the medium body build. I could still parkour but didn't die instantly like light body losers did.
>>736635008Yeha but isn't Brink's single player just the same multiplayer modes but with bots? At least Haze had actual levels and stuff
>>736636102Rip based black friend.
>>736641001Bad Company 2 was fucking badass at the time it came out though. Then the Vietnam DLC that came out around Christmas, maybe even on Christmas day, was kino as well. I remember thinking using the flamethrower tank on someone while IT AINT ME played was peak vidya at the time.
>>736635016that ain't shit

>>736634387that's like pointing at the first ever horse carriage accident where someone hurt their foot a little bit from the impact and calling it the first 9/11
i somehow had the impression that this was some kind of free roam RPG until the very moment i finally played it even though i was really hyped for it and looking forward to it for a long timehow did they do that
>>736638301i was in a top clan for this game back when i was like 10. good times
>>736634387Nah it was more like the first No Man's Sky, hype warped people's perception of the game and everyone saw their own impossible versions of a game that never existed.
