Holey. Good for them.
Last time I played it creatures were still very lame, maybe if they do something about it would be cool.

Can finally have a use for my Green T-Rex other than naming him Reptar
Sweet

i want to like no mans sky but everytime i make a new file i look around and know what im about to go into and just think "whats the point?"
like yeah i can go build a mech......to walk around i guess, could have just flown there in my ship
i could build a ship.......to dive into the ocean where there is nothing to explore
i guess i could go mine some rocks.....but why?

they just never figured out a goal after all these years. and idk what that goal could even be other than straight pvp rust style at all times but the game wasnt designed for any of that.
>>
They will add literally everything before they actually improve the combat and enemy variety

I have 100 hours in this game and the only thing I remember doing was scanning shit and waiting at a trading post for 2 hours for a rare ship to spawn

Basically Its power wash simulator in space. Its a nice backdrop to do other things. Mostly I like getting fucking stoned, go in first person mode in my ship in space, and using the Auto Pilot to travel from planet to planet sometimes cause it takes hours in real time to listen to a new album I have been wanting to listen to - I build bases on those planets I like and then listen to audiobooks or a youtube video while im building and after im done. Its not for everybody. I think they kinda made the game just for me cause im an autist who loves exploring space, and I know there are better games that let you do the same shit but its just comfier here.
>>736651849
This is still probably why I dont take the game seriously either, I to this day havent actually finished the "story" or whatever cause its so easy now to untrack main quests in favor of simple planet information and act like the universe is yours. Before I would simply ignore it or even start another quest to track and then fuck off from that one and continue to
>open Universe map
>zoom out
>toggle free explore
And make sure I have my Hyperdrive system upgraded to the max so I can go wherever I want to find new skyboxes to fuck around in

Ikr, did they make so much money from initial sales that they can give all of those free updates for 10(Ten) fucking years straight?
>>
fucking hack, just emailed nintendo and hope they take these guys for all they are worth
>>
>>736649567
What the fuck even is this game at this point?
>>
I unironically love walking simulators, so No Man's Sky or Death Stranding ease that itch. Love walking on unknown planets, it's really comfy.

Nintendo likes Sean Murray, Hello Games worked hard on the Switch version of No Man's Sky and they already put out a free Switch 2 update.
>>

i look like this and say this
>>
Though about buying the game finally, recently. Now I'm thinking I'll abstain.
>>
>>736655021
watch them delist no man sky after this blatant copyright backstab, nintendo are nice until you fuck them over
>>
>>736651849
the way starship combat works is just awful. they could do a starfox style system that could be fun. but instead, hold s to have a chance of hitting anything. ground combat is only interesting because of another broken mechanic, shove boost jumping. seriously why is movement so shit in this game
>>
>>736655805
Isnt the shove boost jump a bug they kept in as a feature? Players werent supposed to actually be able to do that I think. As someone who is unironically going to platinum this game twice because I played on PS4, Sean Murray does not like combat. I dont think hes even played a decent FPS in his life. There is literally an achievement where you have to survive on a Extreme planet for almost half a day in real life time, and the best way to do it is just to dig straight undergound from where you landed and sit there, put the controller down and you will get a trophy. This is a game to take photos of to post on social media. I just like it for the same reason I like dead malls.
>>
>>736653416
People have been buying it since the engoodening arc
It's a good deal, basically all other games charge for updates these days (they call them DLCs)
>>
Why did they change the update announcer lady? Is she OK?
>>
>>736653416
Their reputation was so fucked from the release that anyone attached to it was unlikely to get hired in the industry again, and it was sean's fault.
He (supposedly) used his own money to bankroll the year after release to support updating it and fixing it. The initial sales were enormous, but there were refund campaigns by steam and sony, but we never got numbers on how many people actually refunded.Much like cyberpunk I'm expecting it was a marketing ploy than a genuine attempt to righting wrongs, since you still had to apply and send tickets and shit, which most people will never do.

As for numbers, in the 4 months after launch in 2016 (mostly concentrated week/month1) it sold 850k copies JUST on steam. It sold 1.15m units on ps4 week 1, so 2 million units sold through in the first month. That is fucking crazy high, and they were very likely able to support themselves, even if a quarter of those people refunded.
It's sold more since, it's past 10m now as of end of last year I think.
>>
>>736649739
They lost the patent, it's fair game.
>>
>>736659725
It has more Steam reviews than MH World and Palworld, games that sold 25+ million
>>
>me when I blow up asteroids in NMS
>>
>>736661184
that means nothing. We know they themselves have said they sold over 10m units. I trust them over anyone else.
>>
>>736649567
No Man's Sky is onions dogshit for braindead retards.
>>
Make nintrannies seethe with one little trick!
>>
I'd prolly play it if the start wasn't so fucking retarded
Being forced to build a base is so fucking annoying
