Still, the high IQ response is to get digital as much as you want, and rely on a pirated copy if that digital license stops working. You've already paid for the game, you should be able to play it. Maybe someone is worried about some game 3 people played that doesn't have a pirated version. That will put a wrench in the plan, but legally purchased games sometimes don't let you play them either, because there's an "install limit" on them or because they have to authenticate online to a server that isn't up. In most cases, relying on a back-up pirated copy works fine.
