And they started with some pretty decent questions about the nature of forgiveness. Who is redeemable and who isn't. In a show about the literal worst of humanity learning to change and grow, the most in depth character arc about realizing their mistakes amending their past actions comes from the POV of a FUCKING ANGEL! The guys who are slaves to their addictions to the point of murdering for fun are either fine as is or their character growth can just happen offscreen but we need to see all the stages of Sera's redemption.

It's a social darwinistic shithole where only the biggest bullies thrive and everyone indulges in the very sins that got them damned in the first place because they think they're already beyond redemption. Anyone who can't make their way to the position of Overlord is free game for the bigger and stronger demons, and anyone who can will never be able to rest easy because someone just like them will always covet their power. And new arrivals are literally just dropped in and left to figure it out on their own, leaving them easy pickings got anyone who wants to use them. Charlie doesn't personally experience the worst of it because she's the Princess of Hell and very obviously sheltered, and her associates are protected by their proximity to her, but for anyone else it's a neverending nightmare.
