Her life wasn't exactly fulfilling but that's all, she isn't crying about it, she is the designated comfort character to others. Pomni trauma we see in ep7 is her feeling guilty about Gummigoo, since it was the first person she connected with in the circus, she wanted something better for him, and then Caine just poofed him.

But her forced smile while as a shift manager shows her mania, and her ribbon body shows her meekness, which is her coping mechanism in the Circus: just grit and bear it. She takes abuse from everything, because that's just her lot in life. Her dreams of anything better are just "unrealistic".Zooble is a toybox character with mix and match parts, and hates it. They're not even remotely human-shaped, and only bipedal by choice. And none of the parts feel like they fit, like trying to find a set bonus that doesn't exist. Zooble hates this body, reflecting their body disphoria in real life. Even Zooble doesn't know what they are. It's through a pep talk with Gangle that Zooble starts to embrace the transience of their body, being able to be anything they want, anytime they want, and don't need to commit to anything. Zooble also makes good use of their parts gimmick in hiding from Caine.I'm gonna hit the character limit so I'll end with Pomni. She's a jester, but unlike Kaufmo she's not a clown. She's not a funny character. She plays the secondary role of the jester, to be the audience surrogate and to speak the truth to authority. And she's the one to first stand up to Caine, leading to his breakdown, to protect Kinger.

Here he's key to stopping Caine, and he serves as a positive role for Pomni and Ragatha when they feel things are breaking down around them and they can't take it anymore. He's also the oldest, not just within the Circus, but biologically too. He's 48, while everyone else is in their 20's or 30's. And his coping mechanism is insanity, feigned or otherwise. He has adapted to the Circus and takes things as they come, without really letting them get him down. Which is how he survived years on his own after the rest of his team, including his wife, abstracted and left him alone. Jax takes the avatar of a perpetually-grinning cartoon rabbit. It shows that he uses comedy and the goofy nature of the Circus to mask his own fear about leaving, and his despair at losing his friends to abstraction. His true self underneath the rabbit skin is a man, showing he doesn't want to go back and face reality for some reason. So he abuses other people because "it doesn't matter"; they're just cartoon people now. If he admitted that things are actually real he would have to face his despair that his friends Kaufmo and Ribbit were also real, and he lost them. He wears that grin for a similar reason to Ragatha; to use insincerity to protect himself from that despair. It's also why he's so aggressive to Ragatha, she reminds him of himself, and he doesn't want to face that.
