He deserved an apology.
>>736764981I bought his game. That's enough of an apology.
Honestly so many egregiously worse games came out since. I apologize
>>736764981he never apologized for his lies personally to me
I still don't get the outrage>Make boring walking simulator>Players decide the game was actually a going to be like Star Wars + Freelancer + Star Citizen + Evolve + SimCity + Doom 3>Game comes out, it's a boring walking simulatorNot his fault. He did nothing wrong.
>>736764981>>736765050>>736765123>>736765172>>736765243This game is still a scam. Its real name is "No Body Shape 2 Sky"
>>736764981I don't think so. He deserved to give out apologies, and he did, and that's good. Is this game still being updated?
>>736765291
>>736764981He fixed it to bare minimum after selling trash. Deserves nothing.
>>736765243You intentionally lied about the part where he promised those things to the players, much like the way he did
>>736765291>This game is still a scam.No it isn't. You can buy it for cheap and get plenty of fun out of it before losing interest and they are still adding more stuff.
>>736764981i fucking hate this faggy cretin
I wish I took a bit longer to realize flying to a planet's always going to be just going in a straight line for several minutes, I was really enjoying it till I had that realization
>>736764981FUCK YOU! HE SHOULD GIVE AN APOLOGY FOR LYING BUT HE NEVER DID! HE'S A BUM!
>>736765547do you not understand what space is?
>>736765243ThisLiterally all the E3 gameplay showed was>land on planet >look around>fly off planet>land on new planet>rinse and repeatThen the game came out and it was>land on planet >look around>fly off planet>land on new planet>rinse and repeatAnd retards threw a hissy fit. I know the cope is "b-but he SAID [blank] was going to be in the game!" but that's on them because seeing is believing. What we all saw was what we all got. Even by that point, we lived in a post- "FALLOUT 3 HAS 200 ENDINGS" and Peter Molyneux world, but they still believed something without seeing it.
>>736764981the game is still offensively mediocre
>>736765638>heh, here's my chance to be smugNo shit real life space flight would be boring, but am I in real life or playing a video game? The distances are too vast for shit like like running into people or anything interesting so you hyperdrive everywhere, and what's hyperdriving? Going in a straight line for several minutesIt was really fucking cool initially, but it wore off eventually
>>736765921>It was really fucking cool initially, but it wore off eventuallyliterally every game everyour posts are so stupid and pointless
>>736764981Hello Games does what Bethesdon't.

>>736766040And yet you reply to them
>>736765653Stop being a retard who excuses devs fucking lying. You can in fact say that the devs were shits for lying and the people who brought the game were retards for falling for the lie simultaneously. These are not mutually exclusive.
>>736766263What the fuck are you talking about? How hard is it to just accept that he shouldn't have lied?
>>736766476He shouldn't have lied. The game would've still been shit if everything he said were entirely true. Gamers overstate how much he lied.
>>736765351Damn, this game doesn't even have gender selection? Didn't it come out before the industry went full retard?
>>736764981>Lies several times on camera>N-NOOO ITS JUST MY AUTISM SO IT DOESN'T ACTUALLY COUNT AS A LIESomeone made a PDF document of every change they promised, they aren't even 40% of the way done yet.
>>736766169As a elder scrolls fan I hope his next game will mog Todd's a second time
>>736764981No, fucking lying piece of shit also hes one of those delicate and feminine males who refuse to go full gay
>>736764981He never did anything wrong. Sony was giving them more money every time he opened his mouth. I'd have done it too. Fuck you give me money.
>>736767015Perhaps, yet they are still giving us big updates for FREE after release while working on their next game show me a studio who does this?
>>736767191Bethesda
>>736767191That's honestly part of why they're so based.
>>736764981I thought it was funny how hard No Mans Sky mogged Starfield, but that wasn't a suitable replacement for being fun to play.
>>736764981Did they update the game so it's fun yet?

>>736764981>deliver what you said you wouldNah, he did the bare minimum
>>736765653Hey retard, don't agree with the other retard.Thank you.
>>736766904whats the setting for his next game?
>>736764981nah, the game is still not my cup of tea but you do you I guess, I suppose an analogy I could make is that I think terraria is a pretty fun game, update 1.4 added golfing, a largely inconsequential feature that I'm sure some people enjoy, did golfing make the game better or worse? idk, about the same I guess, I still liked the core fundamental of it before and continue to do so these dayssame thing for no man's sky, did adding pokemon collecting/fights somehow magically make it a better game? idk probably about the same I guess, but I'm sure there's people that really enjoy the feature, I'm not trying to say all the updates are bad or anything but it's more like a forest for the trees sort of thingfor instance I've seen lots and lots of people complain about the loading screens in Starfield, or how landing on a planet is not seamless, would Starfield be a better game without all the loading screens? I guess so, but at the same time it feels like people are hyper focusing on a minute thing and missing the bigger picture
>>736764981The game is s till shit to anyone not a shill.
>>736764981NMS is still a boring slog, I'll apologize if LNF is good.
>>736764981The 'apology' is people buying his game. He made something people didn't want and turned it into something they did want. It's admirable to stick with something that's shit and make it better but that doesn't warrant an apology.
>>736765243>make shit game>people decide it's shitIf he wanted people to buy his game, it's his fault for making a shitty one. It seems he agreed.
Have we ever found out why he lied in the first place?
>>736765314>He deserved to give out apologies, and he did,Did he? Where?
>>736771203To sell snoy consoles
An apology would imply that fans and customers did something wrong to him. His team fixed their mess/game into something halfway decent, but they still sold a buggy, broken, unfinished game that they spent months of marketing lying about. They definitely deserve kudos for sticking it out and making the game better, but an apology is ridiculous. They actively lied in dozens of interviews and sold a product on those lies. For all intents and purposes, they scammed the shit out of people. It's the equivalent of selling someone a dirt lot and telling them it's a mansion, then spending years and years slowly building a proper house for them. Sure, they got their home. But they were sold a dirt lot regardless. A scam is a scam, even if they person eventually, after 5-10 years, delivers on their promise.
I'm not sure what this webm is I think it's from around release
>>736765243He promised a lot of things that flat out weren't at launch, like being able to meet up with your friends on random planets. The game shipped without online play functionality, so it was outright impossible. And he tried to cover this up in the laziest and most dishonest way possible: literally pasting a white sticker on the game's box right where it says "online play".
>>736764981I pirated it the other day. I cant believe retards play this game. Its fucking horrible. You point your laser at everything and thats it s
>>736765172He literally did
>>736766661I think the game has always been gender neutral.
>>736771203he was way ahead of his own vision of an ideal game, but as today is a reality
>>736764981For what? It's still just shitty buildslop.
>>736765653>false advertising is okay because I totally wouldn't have fallen for it
>>736764981>Put shit in trailers that's not actually in the gameFuck that.
>>736766661there's no humans is the thing. xenobiology is fine to not have male/female
>>736764981>50 updates >still nothing to do>same 5 planets
>>736775340i do kinda wish that there was more differences between fire/ice/poison/radiation planets aside from needing a different color shield
>>736764981at least he does no loading screen from planet to outer space unlike starfield.
>>736765653anon the game barely fucking worked, ran like shit, had NOTHING to do etc etc it was a deserved hissy fit
the game started out boring and now its just tedious AND boring survival crafting shit is such a fucking joke they barely even feel like video games
he ruined the industry by allowing billion dollar companies to release incomplete buggy pieces of shit that they can patch for half a decade without pushback
>>736765243>The main dev man came out to public to do the Todd Howard strat, and just bullshitted his way to promote his game.>Managed to fool Sony executives to think that the game is going to be a groundbreaking flagship title with a crazy tech, and overhyped the generic indie survival game.>Dev man kept on going with his bullshit until release deluding that the strat is going to do more good than bad. It's 100% his fault
>>736764981He did genuinely lie about shit like launch day multi-player and whatnot. He isn't owed an apology. He simply redeemed himself a bit by responding to criticism a lot better than many devs.
No he fucking did/does not. I'll give his team kudos for actually continuing to "improve" this vapid turd though, even though it's still the exact same frustratingly dull empty shallow experience it always was.
>>736764981What happened with the new game he was working on? They released one trailer and went silent for two years now.
>>736765467
>>736776853I don't think he redeemed himself, he was just smart enough to change his strategy and shut the fuck up after his initial strategy backfired. The game got better now sure, but it's still an above average indie title at best. it's no way near the AAAA game that they promised.
>>736764981at the core that game is still the same slop but with gimmick bloat layered on topthe things you can do on each planet are still exactly the same
I played in 2022 with a few friends right after the sentinel update, and the game got old really fast. The only actually fun part was dog fighting in space. It’s the same old loop of getting resources to get better resources.NMS has a lot of systems: base building, trading, settlements, crafting, exploration, but all of them are shallow, loosely connected sandboxes. Every single mechanic in this game feels incomplete and half baked. Some of the newer stuff seems cool, like pirate freighters and storylines, but judging by the rest of the game, they’re probably going to be undercooked as well.
>>736765243The game was grossly unfinished and broken upon release, though we later learned that this was mostly the result of a natural disaster destroying most of the team's work and them having to rush out a much earlier beta, and they were so appalled by the state of the game at release that they worked for about a decade to fix it.
>>736764981Ok but what about the actual game tho? Is it improved? Last time I played it was 3 years ago and I got bored after three hours, yep three I didn't get a refund but that's because I really wanted to give it a shot but it was just... MehHow bout nowadays? Heard there's some big update and whatnot
>>736777129Was it? The game seemed like exactly what the trailers showed it to be to me at launch on console.
>>736765467>>736776978
>>736777185they keep releasing updates that make the puddle wider but not deeper
>>736764981>deservedWhat, did he die?
>>736764981i watched my friend play No Man’s Sky for an hour while he tried to convince me its a good game and I should play it too. He showed me his stupid base. He ran around some planets. All I did was lose respect for him.
>>736764981Not really. Game is shallow as fuck even after all these years. Every time I have urge to play I get bored in a few hours because when you interact with some mechanic, say, delerict ships, you will tell full mechanic experience at the first interaction. Nothing will be better from this moment, it will be the same in every system and at every planet. In the end you have the feel of wonder sucked from the game very fast and left with nothing
>>736771203Pretty sure he was just wildly inexperienced with it.
>>736777336>a cowis this worth watching
>>736777782Yes, assuming you're cool with one long shitpost instead of anything particularly deep.
>>736765653i dont understand how retards like this can exist when everything that went wrong with the launch of NMS is well documented and easily available to read and watch on the internettheres a reason why its entire playerbase say the game's post launch development is a redemption story and its what got the developers a gorillion awards and accolades, not what was done from the E3 announcement onwards all the way until the game came out
>>736771203he was a yes-man put into the lead man's position
I'm honestly excited for Light No Fire. I've always been more of a fantasy guy, and I hope they actually have a story/lore that doesn't boil down to 'It's all a simulation lmao'. It'd be pretty cool to build cities with other players.
>>736778815whats the major difference?
>>736777479Ah I see so the core of the game is still ass, they went with how mojang does with minecraft route, a shame a full overhaul of how the game is with actual progression would've been cool
>>736778997define actual progression
I apologized when I bought his game. No Man's Sky is one of the few games I have deliberately not pirated. Make game I like -> I buy it.
>>736764981I've been singing him nothing but praises for actually delivering after the shaky initial release. Most devs already do what is effectively open access beta, he was just the first one to realize he can actually complete the game and most people will forgive the rocky launch (see FO:NV.)
>>736764981no he doesn't, he and his company deserved all the shit they got for the game's state on launch and no amount of patching the game will ever change that. I will not apologize for rightfully shitting on the game just because they continue to update it.
>>736764981You weren't there on launch it seems
>>736764981>try out basebuilding>Useless buywork that servers nothing of value and mobile game waiting quests>try out settlement>even more useless busywork with nothing of value and mobile game waiting quests (but this time longer)Almost none of the updates or "features" in this game are anywhere worth your time. The games still ass
>>736765243No. You are making things up. The promise was a concurrent universe but when 2 faggots discovered the same planet the lie fell apart
>>736764981Like it's alright to have your game be undercooked but this nigga lied about the game being a persistent open world online game where you can meet other players if they ever travelled to the same planets. Now that's an outright lie about something that isnt even true and he had multiple times to clear himself up before launch, it's not like anyone was forcing him to say outrageous shit either, he kept going on about features the game never had.
t. people basing their entire knowledge of the game off the IH video
>>736778936Well for one, it's being developed with the improved state of NMS as a baseline. They've even said before that many of these updates are them testing out features that will be in LNF.For another, I like the idea of one really, really good planet to explore rather than a bunch pump n' dump planets that have maybe two neat things going for them.
>>736773546>but as today is a realityWhy you fags always have to lie?
>>736771589it's crazy that we still don't have little rivers like that
>>736764981The most enjoyment I got was dogfighting but it's so barebones in this game once you find the the super fast rapid fire gun it just becomes boring and it's not even that hard to find it's super easy, you can also start mining with the same gun at that point you just don't leave your ship
>>736765243The vertical slice they showed off had shit in it that wasn't in the final game and they talked up something pretty big when the finished game they shipped was an incredibly shallow game without a lot of things they mentioned.
>>736765243>I still don't get the outrageYou obviously weren't there when it happened.
No Man's Sky didn't even lie about half the shit Cyperspunk 2077 did and that game has people jerking off over it to this day. Remember that Cybershit was supposed to have a GTA online style multiplayer
He still lied through his teeth. The game still fucking sucks.
>>736765243Sony lent their shilling agents for that game. This is one of those games that won awards before it was released.
Why are so many virgins like this? Thinking devs are "based" and "deserve apology", when they literally lied and scammed their customers, selling them a terrible product, even before the product is even completed, just because they at a much later date, slightly improved the product.Same with cyberpunk. "It's okay that they literally lied about what they were seeling, because muh engoodening"
>>736764981Fuck him and fuck you too.
He deserves to be in a gas chamber.
>>736765243dumb covidgamerfuck off you dumb fraud
>>736764981>smash a guy's vase>he gives you shit for it>buy him another one>expect apology from him for giving you shit for breaking the first one
You know, I'd forgive him for lying if he'd just apologize. But he hasn't even done that! Fuck this guy!
>>736764981Now because of him games come out dogshit and don't even get an update before they're hailed "JUST LIKE NO MAN SKY"Don't even need to list them. We all know one.
>>736764981It is still the same game it was at launch. You just now have more ways to engage that same content. Admittedly for what it is, I'm impressed they tried to patch things up to this extent, but the foundational problems remain. Exploring random planets that aren't random enough to look at animals that aren't random enough while ignoring a story no one cares about or hopping online to pretend to like the game with 20 other people only gets you so far, and I say this as someone with 200 fucking hours.
>>736766040False, games can (and have) put interesting shit on the way to a destination. A game like elite dangerous at least has some gorgeous sights going for it, but nms is just too cartoony, and its space looks like someone barfed the contents of a bnq paint mixer into vacuum. Not shitting on the game, if you like it - you like it, I just find the endless discovery of "new" kindergarten-play-area-looking planets unbearable.
