HITO MOJITO PRESENTS...

...A GAME BY HITO MOJITO...

...METH HANDLING
>>
I fucking love hauling cargo and I thank Kojima for making games that appeal to me specifically.

Also I would fuck Tomorrow.
>>
>>736760281
Did it.

Board->Clockwise. Pick up 4 (maxmium), rush to F2. Move to 5 (the Camp near the V-tuber and Heartman's place), pick up, move to the river near the Wildfire area, ride river down to 6. Instead of backtracking to try to go UP the mountain, go wide by moving to the "ocean" instead (monorail going to F4) from 6, move follow monorail while boating for speed to road of F4. Move down to Tar Therapist->Cross mountain to Camp. Hit 7/Camp. Move from there to F7 (short hop up from where camp is), move down the "trench run" of the main story to F8 (being careful to not damage cargo)-> Hit the Monorail-Zipline right behind the barrier that Terminal Fort Knot/F8 has (you'll know if you look around the area)->Zipline straight to F5 with 18-19 mins left.

Pull truck out. Manage Cargo all 1-4% damaged cargo into the truck. Haul ass up the (Level 1) road to the bend that pulls down to Mr. Impossible.

Get off the truck and report the end with 16 mins or so left.

S rank gained, both bonuses gained. No warp so Likes aren't deducted 100 likes gained.

Your way totally works, BTW. Just wanted to see if it was entirely doable no-warps and it is. Tough (Surf board is twitchy, IMO after hours with the truck), especially protecting cargo from 5% limit, but doable.

Also made me appreciate the board when going down the river as a bayou taxi. BT's start up "FUCKING STOP SLOWDOWN, LET ME GO!" and no BT issues like going up the mountain with the board would because BT's can't cross water.
>>
>>736778484
Also knocked the camps out first, that's key for this since it's easier to go back to pick up Cargo 5, 6, 7 without needing to deal with them on the way to the roof of 5.

I just started DS2 and the first boss fight filtered me. Control is instantly seized from me, I am stunlocked, I am assuming all is fine if you hit the dodge even remotely close when you need to, but is that really how every major encounter is going to go? I am going to be in a pool of tar, the control of my character greatly impaired, then stunlocked, then impaired again, then stunlocked, etc. Maybe I will boot it back up, but fuck, that was awful

16 minutes left is pretty insane considering there's zero teleport involved. Good job man.
I've been using the coffin on the river when delivering between motherhood/pioneer/ghost hunter/east fort knot and yea it's fun. Also the route between the Chronobiologist and Ghost Hunter is prime coffin path.

>>736780791
Yea the game tries to be both MGSV and a delivery sim so the controls feel like a muddy unresponsive mess. The tar floors are limited to BTs thankfully but all they really need to do is just make the platforms static, easily accessible, and plentiful so players can use that as a reliable safe spot to jump inbetween. You eventually unlock the boost/battle skeleton which lets you move more on tar(still kind of shit) and a kind of a jetpack that makes you immune to fall damage and increases jump distance but honestly at that point you'll also unlock pokemon BTs with infinite aggro and it makes the fight play itself anyways so the combat at least with BTs stay consistently shit to mediocre. Though the spectacle is still cool to watch.

I somewhat disagree, I think it still should have been a sequel where you play as Sam, but I think that they should have reshuffled what parts of the death stranding are in play. I think Timefall should be gone, and I think surface BT‘s of the variety we saw in the first game should be gone. They’ve introduced the new guitar current stuff, make the new threats come from that. Timefall was never a particularly interesting gameplay mechanic, it mostly exists as a tonal feature, to make the world seem inherently hostile. I don’t find it ever really affects deliveries, if the delivery was important, you brought new gear. Removing it to show some sort of progress from the first game, and then introducing new threats from the tar, APAS, and Higgs 2 should have been the move in my opinion.
>>
>>736782675
I meant tar current, i have no idea what infected my brain to write “guitar current” other than thinking about Higgs
>>
what is with the shrieking and snarling and shit when you leave a bt area, is this a late game thing? it didn't do this earlier.
>>
>>736780739
That removes many types of structures though, I just want to banish signs.
>>
>>736780631

The tip is to let structures load in for a bit while you have share Everything, then switch it to only Some and delete the signs and annoying structures.

Most of the new gear gets unlocked up to the 4th star connection level, don't bother trying to 5 star places until after the story is done. Except for the lone commander, if you like the sniper rifles try to max him out as early as you can. Check the NPC section in the corpus, it tells you what the next connection level will unlock. Remove backpack for ezer combat. Kick survivalists. Body slam survivalists. Bomb survivalists. Don't rush, take your time. Enjoy the vibes.

Also I just did the tutorial mission for clearing out a area of BT's. I kept throwing the blood grenades at the BT's but they didnt go away. So i got dragged into the tar and just ran away from the fight and I got the mission clear. Was that the actual mission objective? Wtf lol.

It says right there in the corpus that he faked his death the first one anyway :^)
There's anons who were always delivering to him so that he'd stay alive during their playthrough. For 99% of the playerbase he died. DS2 acknowledging his "death" isn't so much the issue, it's the whole faking to be dead so he can be carried to the closest city as a corpse in order to avoid terrorists thing. And in order for the deception to work he couldn't tell sam because ??? Like hell sam would snitch
Also what city did he go to ? I was under the impression that he went to lake knot, since that's the closest city to his shelter. Then a void out occured and he became part of APAS. So is 1/4th of the map of the first game a giant crater now ?

I wouldn’t say Timefall wasn’t an interesting mechanic. It’s a fundamental part of Death Stranding, you have to weave that into the game mechanics somehow. Don't five star early. Trust me on this.

Once you hit 4 star, stop and move on. There is only one (1) prepper you want to five star and even THEN their item gets outclassed immediately (enemies get armored up) to where Shock Bola beats all (because it gets around said armor).

Yeah, the coffin is similar on the mountains. Though at times it won't let me fix it's "surfing the wave" as it's going up/sideways relative the mountain. Like the game is trying to do the "press left stick in other direction to fix balance" mechanic but the engine is like "nah, you're climbing a mountain, brah" so it doesn't do it.

>Having BTs always parked in the same areas ruin their impact in the game
They sort of tried that this outing. BT's aren't in set zones at times. The timefall "moves"/rains or doesn't, snows or doesn't, bushfires or doesn't. It's just that it doesn't happen sporadically or often enough.

DS1 you're right in that BT areas were "set" and 2's are "set" in that you know where they are, but 2's aren't "always there" like 1's were.

3 should have events happen a bit more often. Like once you beat the game, you don't really have "Gate Quakes" happen and even through the story they were so minor (seemed scripted but apparently aren't?) that they weren't really huge deals beyond "*sigh* I gotta fix my monorail/roads."

I think the trade off should be that roads/monorails/infrastructure's "grind" shouldn't be so grindy if events happen more though. But 2 is already (IMO) a slog enough as it is that adding more grind to it would kill it for even the most die-hard(man) autists that enjoy the gameplay.

I don't know if they changed artists but 1's goes hard, while 2's looks bad (might be quality, it's not as crisp as 1's).

I think the purple-blue color scheme works better than the blood red.
>>
>>736804380
In the third game they just set the BTs to roam the map in packs or alone, either hunting other human npcs or the player.
I never notice them moving in 2, the game is quite obvious when it's about to throw a BT area in front of your order path so as soon as the obvious appear I went 180 and went around them.
>>
>>736804731
>the game is quite obvious when it's about to throw a BT area in front of your order path
I don't know about order path, but yeah. The game is obvious with BT's appearing with it going blood red, heavier rain and the slowdown light flickering effect.

They should probably get rid of those so BT's are an actual surprise/dread than "ugh... NOT NOW."

>If you follow the logical path, you'll cross the river and go southward then up to reach the easier path
>Guess what: BT area there
>If you go northward towards the rock
>No BTs
Same with other orders
>New place?
>BT area near the most obvious route
>Or a mule camp nearby
Have them be ambush predators or hordes that stampede across the map would've been better, and remove the obvious visual queues too, just have the sensor start blipping without the slow down extra focus and musical queue we get that crashes the pace of every delivery run.

Patches did a lot of nice things in that game so that's probably a win. As for me, it's nice to play a game with normal controls and I've having trouble controlling Sam when I am used to the monstrosity that was CD's controls

I have a cool lil loop going with the main deliveries and standard/sub deliveries. After every main delivery, Fragile tells you to come to the Magellan. I take that as my “okay, you did the main mission, fuck around all you want then go rest to progress the story” cue. It reminds me of how in Blue Reflection you had to talk to the Shijou sisters after beating a chapter in order to advance into the next one. In that time I’ll use the order search function in the pause menu to see what new orders have become available then I take the time to do them all. It takes me like an hour or two to clear all the new orders and take on the next main delivery. It’s a comfy loop

Yes. There is a Lost Cargo right outside F8 (LITERALLY, scan right outside the "ramp"/door of F8) and take it to the perosn that is listed in that area.

We don't know if it happens in Chapter 13/14, so if you head over there before linking it (which should be obvious if you've linked other areas/F7 before that point, you can bring it online after delivering another 2-3 Lost Cargo (look up the prepper if you want to spoil it), but again: we don't know if it's post-game or not.

Once you have it though, get ready for slight pain if you're going for 5-star.

Deadman was BASED this outing. Though they fucked up by having Del Toro exit early. He should've (real game spoilers) been the Samurai pre-Beach, and we find out he has a mechanical heart as he gave his actual heart to Heartman before that point. Higgs beats him but we find out the Heartman thing, which leads to a round 2 where Higgs gets chopped like the first weapons factory.

Also not a fan of his face during the reveal at the end. Felt like (real game spoilers) Mech Higgs that shows up on the ship but with no animation.

I understand jumping ramps, bridges, generators and zip lines, but why litter the map with everything else? Who the fuck uses shelters? Container damage is meaningless if you're able to walk without falling down and watchtowers are useless thanks to Dollman.

I don't know if parking your truck under it keeps the entire truck safe from timefall but at least the NPC porters interact with it and I like that. It's also a nice insurance. Watchtowers are way faster than Dollman and you don't have to wait for him to return everytime.

In my experience bridges are kind of useless because of roads and you can just bruteforce most rivers with your truck. I've seen more useless roads than actually useful ones like that one near the chronobiologist that keeps on fucking respawning so I placed a guidepost to block it.
>>
>>736825908

and dollman is useless thanks to compass view or simply scanning. how hard they tried to force and endless little quip machine tied to your belt to be "useful" is fucking hilarious.
>but he can distract things!
that's what holo grenades are for. kojipro know he's worthless which why he is forced upon the player at all times.
>>
>>736827792
As a tentative dollman apologist I find it shocking how little he actually talks. Like he clearly exists because Norman is more expensive but still he barely comments on stuff. It's weird.
>>
>>736827126
You can do the same: Compass view in either and zooming (probably don't need to zoom) on the enemies.

Watch tower is just faster since a scan like L1 will tag them faster.
>>
>>736827792
To be fair I still use Dollman when I build structures since he lets me get a bird's eye view of the area. He's a nice insurance outside of chiral network coverage too.
>>
>>736828026

yes he's story locked. dont waste standard deliveries on him. use lost cargo if you have to until he mentions he's leaving again, then you can either go sleep or let time pass normally until his son begs you to rescue him again on strand xitter. phantom smith and the aero engineer are easy to do in the meantime or that poor guy in the observatory is also really worth it for stabilizers
>>
>>736828237
Yea and you get nothing after the climbing gloves level 2 btw. For his final rescue you should bring a coffin board and place it at the tar crater north of Australia, thank me later
>>
>>736828991

>>
>>736829067
No, because it won't teleport with you. You actually have to deliberately place it because this fucking jeet shitskin is in the island middle of the tar crater just to farm his izzat.
>>
>>736828991
>>736828237
Huge general tip is that if you go to the corpus it will say if a delivery hole has a good reward coming and in general what is next.

Also remember that our queen, The Dowser, would not talk about the adventurer like some here feel too comfortable to.
>>
>>736829223

>>736828102
Yeah, that's that anon's point. I was just explaining that it's possible to do it WITHOUT Dollman since you can do it yourself like you can with Dollman.
>>
>>736828237
Yes, he's locked. If the star isn't moving, wait. You're better off saving before delivering complete, if it doesn't move, reload, put in locker and wait until the SSS post.

It's the most annoying quest in the game because of that.
>>
Are the Impossible Twins not available until after the story is over?
Is it possible to bring everyone on the grid before finishing the plot? Not 5 star just getting the map complete

Apparently you can but it's literally a chapter before the end of the game. You have to sleep/reload for their lost cargo to appear too.

Probably the most annoying part about the game but at least you get an option to reduce BTs and completely remove ghost mechs once you clear the story.

As others say (beyond BPAS, which I found near F7), if you're already at F8 you're nearly at the end of the game (literally the final hour or two) and should just push it to get the DHV unlocked to zip about again instead of hauling the Lost Cargo for them via Monorail from F8 to F5.

BPAS doesn't get anything huge for starring them to make doing it before the end really worthwhile besides the Chiral gatherer (which won't be worth much at end game).

Despite the fact that I 100 percentoed the second game and liked It very march, the first one still has a very strong charm In the places where DS2 somehow lacks. I'm revisiting it in DC right now and I really missed the abandoned sites and the crematoriums (they had very cool fitting design and had special eerie aura around them) in the second one. Still I think it justified because of a tone shift, so Instead of melancholic, rotting yet hopeful we've got the colorful blooming macabre down under in the treeless plain. Somehow DS2 feels like Y2K's optimism revival aesthetically and thematically.

Gotta use the grenade launcher, switch it to tranquiliser grenades, literal baby mode easy peasy for any camp.
In fact it was so overpowered that now you can no longer fabricate any grenade launcher with tranq grenades in DS2. You must steal one from camps, and even then the ammo is nerfed.
Now I'm not overlooking many of the other improvements in DS2, I'm just saying that there was still a decent amount of fun to be had in DS1 as well, at least in the Director's Cut.

Everybody knows Physint is Metal Gear Liquid at this point, right? It's clearly about Liquid's time with Foxhound before he went rogue. The main character looks like Liquid, he's wearing Liquid's trenchcoat from MGS1.
1984 to 1999 is the last gap in the timeline that needs to be filled, and the only thing Kojima has ever said he regrets with regards to Metal Gear at this point was failing to flesh out Liquid as a character.
>>
When do the standard orders start to really appear? I really can't be bothered doing them because there's barely 4 of them in the places i've unlocked so far. So does Sam think she's dead or not? Feels like the intended idea is that he's delusional in grief and thinks she's back in the pod, but then other characters and he himself will bring up Lou's death like its obvious.

Is it instead that the thinks she's a BT? But then that doesn't explain why he sees her as normal looking during gameplay.

Yes. They were designed this way for vehicle combat, which fucking sucks btw

>>736861608
Would feel a little different if we could see the crew cleaning up the tar once in a while. It's mentionned but the player will never see it, only reinforcing the idea that they do fuck all. There's one moment in the story where the magellan is really backing you up in gameplay and it's great, if only there were more moments like that

idk if this is a case of definition drift, but I've never seen a game called a 'movie game' due it it's cutscenes.
As far as I'm aware, a movie game is something devoid of gameplay and systems to the point where it's just press A every few minutes to progress the background cinematic experience.

Anon plz. I like the game but you can't deny that this entirely a cinematic experience first and foremost. Every action is gated through a cutscene. The length of the "game" comes from repetitive tedium that's incredibly shallow and is clearly not the focus.

My interpretation is that the pod holds a significant connection to Lou/Tomorrow and Sam/Neil. When you plug it in you're connecting to Lou somehow and getting his flashbacks.
Alternatively, Kojima didn't know any better way of introduction Neil so he replicated the Cliff gimmick from the first game but without the confusion of not knowing if it was Lou's or Sam's memories.

You'd proabbly want a DS2 interactive map. MGO1 (MGS3) info (which is on the saveMGO page, which 4 also includes), maybe information on "MGO4" (3 is PortOps, which nobody really plays)/Phantom Pain's?

Probably art books for DS1-2.

They can't really make the BTs roam without redoing how BTs work by the world's logic. BTs are bound to the place where the corpse that necrotized was. They don't roam because they can't. Now, that was probably written that way because Kojima and co couldn't make them roaming in DS1, but if they make them roaming packs now a lot of how the beaches work has to be explained, which threatens throwing all the other logic out the window. Yeah, Kojima isn't afraid of doing that, but it's a lot of work when a more elegant solution is just to do what >>736782675 and >>736820662 suggest and make the new threat the tar and the catchers from the tar itself. Dump the timefall and the BT zones associated with it and just use the easy and logically consistent with the world excuse, "With Amelie and Drawbridge's Q-Pid sealing beaches those things aren't a factor anymore," but the link to the tar, the seam, and those in between worlds that can touch the beach are still an issue.

I remember the first time I did that mission I made the mistake of using the enhancement that turns the scanner into a cone, so I kept losing her tracks whenever she made a turn since the cone was so narrow.

Second playthrough even though I knew where to go, I had some cargo to drop off at the Dowser and she just said "I did some Dowsing and Tomorrow is at the Northern Environmental Observatory", then her end location is just marked on your map.
>>
>>736872252
Some timed deliveries are tight and require some planning. But aside from the ones that require a truck, they can all be done with the coffin. Jump ramps are very nice to have for express orders when a deadly fall is in the way

There's more: https://www.reddit.com/r/DeathStranding/comments/1mxwf5a/mr_impossible_lost_cargo_locations_updated/

Photos aren't the best, but there's one on the ice flow, one a bit north of Mr. Impossible, one near the Aero (where you rescue the Jeet if you did that already) and one on the monorail between F8 and Mr.

Just to note: It won't 4.75 star you for the suborder with just those, you'll have to run some orders to them.

>you'll have to run some orders to them.
that's fine i just wanted enough cargo to at least 1 star them or whatever it took to unlock them enough to give me orders. if need more lost cargo to finish them up i'll grab that, but they seem somewhat story locked like adventurer.
>>
>>736876942
They get locked at like 2.5 and then 4.75 stars.

The last mission is a pain, but once you do it (even if you teleport as long as it's an S-rank) you'll cap.

I solo grinded the fuck out of the first game because that one did not have PS/PC shared online and I was ahead of most people because I took a vacation.
While I don't want to repeat that, I feel like everything in 2 is build for me already and I don't have to do anything.
It's hard to decide to play offline and miss out on the point of the game or not
>>
>>736879339
It also takes longer for enemies to respawn in camps if they've been killed. You can genocide entire camps and be at peace for a while

I feel like there's nothing wrong with an online first run, 2nd run should be offline though at least you know the areas and routes and stuff.

>>736879508
I'm an online enjoyer and having everything already built for me everywhere was not fun at all. I changed the online structure setting to only some later thinking that it would do as its name suggest but instead it gets rid of all online structures AND signs, only keeps contribution for roads but not monorail tracks for some reason. There really need to be a proper reduced option.
>>
>>736879375
yeah and even the stuff i have seen built online i hardly even use. i only used a zip lines maybe twice in the entire game and none of them were in the mountains. the only online structures i have actually used a lot are private rooms to repair vehicles and refill ammo because for whatever reason you can't just fabricate more ammo.

Kojima is at his best when there's a competent higher up on his shoulder telling him "stfu that's retarded, remove this part and rewrite that part. It's garbage"

The moment he got full creative control he made two absolutely abysmal games,
I honestly would overdose on my own farts too if I got treated like the Scorsese of games and taking credits for other people's work.

Also his western celebrity worship makes things worse, he wants to be a movie director so bad but he's so hilariously ill equipped for it that I hope he gets to do it one day, the ridicule and shit he'll get will probably humble him and make him realize he's at his best when he's on a leash and working with other people who know their stuff

His best game will come out when he realize he has good starting ideas but awful execution and he needs help.

If Survive was a stealth-action game people would care about it. And if you turned DS into a survival horror nobody would care about it even with Kojima as a director. And MGS remakes did fine so people aren't upset with Konami as a company.
