Bit tired of this meme that season 1 of ZZZ had a great story. It was mostly boring slop just like it is now. 1.4 was more poorly written and obvious rewrites than anything in season 2. 1.6 and 1.7 were every bit as long and boring as 2.5. The biggest problems in season 2 are the villains being garbage (fucking Pearlman and Lucius are the only decent villains we had really) and Phaethon going into the Hollow for no good reason only to be a stupid retard that needs rescuing every single chapter.

I had an okay time with the first 'season', even if I found a lot of the anatagonists really underwhelming. The urban setting + outlaw framing of the MCs did a lot of the heavy lifting for me. But then right after it goes 'actually the mayor is chill with you, and also we're just letting the MCs walk into the Hollows because uhh that bios update just lets them' immediately followed by chink magic nonsense. I really don't care about not-china, especially when the first two chapters so far were basically resolved by 'Yixuan uses chink magic on the big monster and saves the day again', how much more of this crap do I have to push through to get back to the normal stuff?
