The offensive shit started with Cygnus knights and Hero classes which are just a rehash of the archetypical warrior, mage, thief, archer subtypes we already had with explorers with some stupid as shit flavour attached to them. It was quite frankly uninspiring and uninnovative donut steel shit. I’m not a big fan of the dual blade conceptually, instead of that they should’ve made the third rogue job something to do with kusarigamas and work around that flavourwise and not make his skill set super overpowered and power crept.I stopped playing before pathfinder came out so no clue what that bitch is like but I’d always imagined a third archer branch could’ve used traps as a mechanic or could’ve been a beast master archetype taming beasts.Resistance kinda still kept in line with the original theme and vision of maple story but again the mage and archer just weren’t dissimilar enough to what we had going already, I would only make a case for the mechanic to make it as part of a 6th class after pirate. Instead of resistance call the first job inventor or something, make one branch of 2nd job the mech suit, another branch could be something like setting up and building turrets like heimerdinger in league, not sure about a third but you get the point. All in all, there should be no zoom zoom skills that blasts you across the map, hits 10 dudes at once and no original donut steel hero lore background for the classes. As long as they keep to those tenets I’m down for more classes, it’s not gonna be a problem.

the true issue that you'll have to confront is that ultimately nexon is a bunch of softies in regards to game design and will just change things because people asked them to which means a lot of things will end up getting repeated by first principles of people just playing long enough eventually. the exp curve wasn't that steep a lot of early gameplay was just very unoptimized so a lot of people will actually be hitting higher levels kinda fast if they try cause duky or someone is just gonna make a best training spot/leveling guide video like a week and a half in to get like a million views which forces the issue of no content almost immediately unless there's really bad diminishing returns on doing anything. you can't time gate people because classic andys shit their pants about dailies and weeklies and you can't have lateral progression either so there's kinda nothing to stop them besides hoping they just don't want to, which is not likely because zomg level race le FangBlade wowee is arguably the most important part of the osms cultural gameplay legacy

I do hate when the game basically tells me to stop playing because otherwise other players might find it unfair and then have systems in place that make playing normally without dailies/weeklies punishing or other systems implemented to hinder the progress when playing with "extra time".It's a bit of a problem as the audience and overall voice when it comes to these things have shifted and shaped to be much different now then it was back then. I already saw examples of these when playing private servers of maple, but also in other games throwing like Diablo 4 as an example.
