ITX case looks so sexy man
>>
my current PC is an ITX build, I really like it. It is a pain to build though, you have to put a lot of shit together outside the case and now if I want to move something or install a different NVME drive or something I have to take the whole thing apart.
But the size is nice. My last PC was in a FD Define R4 which was ridiculously huge and didn't fit anywhere.

I'm glad I built my itx rig before pc gaming died
7800x3d, 5080, 64gb of RAM, 4tb ssd
Been playing crimson desert maxed out at 1440p/120fps without the gpu or cpu going above 62c
Best of all I can take it with me to visit friends and family in a few months

I waa thinking of doing ITX, but I ended up going with a mid-ATX that was on the smaller side. Still easily transportable while also still being easy to work in.

itx, mini-atx, and all other cuck form factors are peak midwit redditor appeal. why, just why, would you pay MORE for LESS hardware? up to 2x the price of a standard form factor to cuck your own self into having less slots. i used to be one of you faggots, until i grew the fuck up and realized a computer is not a fucking desk ornament.

my current build is in a torrent nano, I really like it. That being said it's not tiny, it's kind of on the large size for an ITX build

my mobo is micro atx and im not buying a new one so even if i downsize it would have to fit that and a 5080

Rackmounted cases are clearly the best, it just sucks that the price is also typically much higher.
>Horizontal, so no need to worry about sag
>Enough room to work in, not a cramped set it and forget it SFF box
>Slides in and out of the rack, very comfy
>No gaymer glass panels by default
>Neat way to organize multiple PCs, servers, UPS and networking stuff
>Not taking up desk space or sucking up floor dust
>>

What do people even need cases this big for anymore? There aren't any useful pcie components anymore. If hard drive storage is your end goal you may as well set up a separate NAS. You don't need 4 ram slots.
They don't even have better airflow. Big cases hold in heat even with case fans trying to keep things moving. Smaller cases with good ventilation have nowhere to hold the heat so it gets moved out far more easily.
ATX cases have just kinda lost their purpose other than being easy assembly for newbie/inexperienced builders.

This is the one I have. It was an ok price at micro center and would fit all my parts vs my old rig where I had to have the liquid coller fans on the outside of the case.

I recently downsized my 5800x3D/7900xtx build into the green version of this case. It runs quiet and fairly cool, is small enough to put on my desk, and just makes my desktop setup a lot cleaner. And it just looks cool. I'm definitely sticking to ITX builds from here on.

The final straw for my previous ATX case was that it just had this annoying rattle no matter what I tried fiddling with or tightening or what. I finally got fed up with it after years, and since I was going to get a new case, I just said fuck it, I'll downsize everything.

I was contemplating a mini itx build simply so that I had a case with the gpu not sagging in a socket inevitably destroying the card/socket in use. sure, there's the argument of "just lay your pc case on its side then" but i have concerns about hard drive life when sitting at a different orientation than what it's been at for years.

I was also considering designing and getting a case fabricated, but there's a whole bunch of shit involved for that too. Or I'd like one of these ancient ass japanese cases.

if you are using a mechanical hard drive then the longevity of parts is not your priority of any kind at all
if you want to keep your pc in a normal orientation but are still worried about gpu sagging (as you should, shit's heavy now that they're the size of a state), just steal legos from your kid and build a supporting pillar

you should simply not purchase components made to such poor quality and specifications that they sag.
You should not be required to literally prop up anothers shitty work. so dont
>>
>>736800740
Phono isn't aux, it has some kind of preamp.
But anyway, what would I plug the jack into?
>>
mITX cases have a big premium in cost, compatibility/components, performance (ie heat in a smaller space), working within it, etc. Unless you absolutely NEED something that small for one reason or another its better to just stay with standard ATX at least. Its more expandable and there can be smaller cases that still fit ATX boards and PSUs, as opposed to uATX or mITX. For most people it isn't worthwhile unless you've got a legitimate need and the time/money/skill to make up for it.

I've been using a "silent" case for like 10 years since my 2nd ever PC and always used mid range hardware that didn't get too hot. But then I decided to make a hardware upgrade a few years ago and realised my existing fans were basically doing nothing because airflow was so restricted. Ended up changing them to high pressure fans which is a game changer.

There's no point having a full tower case, it's just a waste of space. The new meta is a wider/longer mid-tower to accommodate new fuckhuge GPUs and CPU coolers.

Full towers were only a thing during the HDD age, nowadays modern mobos only have like 2-4 SATA ports and modern cases will only max out at 2 3.5" HDD bays. Hoarders should just invest in a NAS, anything that isn't Synology would work.

not the cartrigde slot dumbass.
THE HEAVY ASS GPU WAS MADE POORLY.
Frankly its an attempt to sell you overpriced crap BEFORE its actually ready for general use (hence it overheating so fucking bad it needs a cooler that can break you fucking pcie slot if not propped up
Similar principles apply to EVs.Not truly ready for market or realistic use case scenarios yet still sold as a premium high end item despite currently being woefully impractical.
Its poor quality garbage only subhumans would buy.

Front buttons are better for under desk setups though.
If the button isn't on top you won't hit it with your foot by accident when using your case as a footrest, as one does.

hell yeah NR200 bro
i have a 7900XT propped up perfectly on two bottom 120mm intake fans, so no sag.
two 120mm exhaust on top, two 120mm on the cpu cooler, one 140mm intake on the side, and 92mm exhaust on the back, tons of cooling for such a small case.

Which OptiPlex model do you recommend?

Are there any anti-gaming motherboards and processors compatible with the OptiPlex?

That means you paid extra for a case with a pointless gimmick front that does nothing. Heck, the power switch isn't even in the on position. Who's the retard now?

I'm just using an NR200 because I don't give a shit. Who looks at their case anyway?

Steam Machine is seriously gimped on the GPU side of things unless you don't plan on playing any UE5 game at above medium settings.
