>>736795431It's a fantastic game and a perfect answer to the Gears of War mechanics that dominated the landscape at the time I can appreciate that it was ported to PC but it loses all purpose with a mouse and keyboard. The entire game is designed around mitigating the inherent flaws of controller aim in a shooter.
Love it. Pro-tip play it with a different dub each time, they're all brilliant. Personally I really enjoy the Italian one gives it a real Bruno Dawn feel.

You know that recent meme of this "game is amazing/this game is shit"; usually using Mario 64 webm with a speedrunner/regular player. That's going to sum up the opinions you're going to get on this game. You can play it like a maniac that slides everywhere, uses the various weapon melee attacks, and abuses iframes....or you can just play it like a normal cover shooter. Because the game doesn't punish this at all.

Basically everything that uses your heat gauge are the best and most fun aspects of the gameplay, but the gauge itself is excessively limiting especially since overheat (which you're forced into instantly after a melee attack) leaves you dead in the water and makes it extremely likely you'll die instantly to an offscreen projectile.It's like a 7 out of 10 game that can be modded into a 10/10.

>>736798482It's stupid that a melee attack costs all your meter. They're still worth using, just not as often. There's also a glitch where the somersault kick can be spaced so it still knocks the enemy up but doesn't cost meter.
