FALD displays have input lag, so you need an oled panel for proper HDR gaming, but oled monitors while faster than other panel types, are still blurry due to the lack of strobing modes, oled TVs with good strobing modes died since 2023, we have Pulsar monitors now which I would 6900% buy over most oled monitors but they're IPS which can't do HDR at all.I got a high end oled TV from before they got raped, HDR looks fantastic even with the cut brightness of strobing, but you still need to fuck with 3rd party mods like Luma/RenoDX to get actually good HDR out of the games (autohdr and RTXhdr sucks and are not real hdr)In the end HDR is the only way to get the full contrast, color and brightness range out of the display you paid for, but you need oled infinite contrast, or a really super bright IPS2, maybe FALDs or miniled are less laggy now but I didn't check.It sucks that Rting is now a paid site, choosing monitor or TVs is gonna be a lot harder.

Also miniled add up to 15ms of input lag with localdimming. That's more lag added than using framegen X4And both have shit motion clarity, some oled monitors offer a strobing mode but it disable hdr and cut the max refresh in half. So you can't have a non-blurry HDR 120fps picture like a TV such as the LGC1 can do. Games looks incredible like this and that's at least my personal standard.

HDR has always been worth it. People will say "errm I literally can't see a difference" and I don't even know what to say to that.First HDR game I played was Forza Horizon 3 on Xbox One at my friends friends house and I literally baseded the fuck out OH MY SCIENCE THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND STARS FEEL LIKE THEY ARE IN THE ROOM WITH ME RIGHT NOW HOLY SHIITTT I bought an HDR set myself the next year (made sure it had 1000+ nits of course).
