The moment I realized this was with Edge of Tomorrow, where it felt so unbelievably forced and unnecessary. After that, it just opened my eyes to the fact that there is practically no reasonable amount of time in games and movies where a true romance can blossom unless it's a longer running series, there are time skips, or something like Xenoblade where the game is either super fucking long or it's an already established relationship like a childhood friend situation. I find romance like in Bioware games or like Baldur's Gate 3 to be retarded and extremely unnecessary. It's just lust, not romance at that point. Which is perfectly fine, but not when they insist on calling it romance. At least there's Jack in ME, which is lust, and BG3 has plenty of lust routes, without trying to masquerade it as romance.
