For many years, I thought all function keys were combinations. For example, I thought "f5" meant "hold f and press 5".

I grew up on a windows 95 that booted into a menu. Before I learned how to read, I watched my mom select options from the menu and assumed she had memorized the other. I didn't know reading existed.

When i was a kid I spent so long in the deku tree, like a week of game sessions dont know exactly how long, because I never realized the deku sticks could be lit on fire and was trying to figure out how to burn the basement web.
I made up for it though and the water temple was piss easy.

I am unbelievably retarded when it comes to remembering where to go in games. I just brute force myself backtracking through rooms I've already been in until I found out where to go.

unless you were on linux or mac, that's inexcusable. I think even windows XP had a built in zip tool

The owl statue tells you to kill these things in a certain order. Problem is, it doesn't tell you to kill them, it just gives you the order. Second problem is that I didn't know what any of these enemies were called, so I had genuinely no idea what it was talking about.

it was always pinned in the task bar or I just clicked on "my computer" on the desktop

I used to go to cybercafes and steal the most desktop shortcuts I could and transfer them to my mini laptop.
Then mald at my home when the games wouldn't work.
I couldn't fathom data and data compression until I was like 12.

How didn't you notice them on the top row of the keyboard?

>>736825167
Not every keyboard has them. Smaller ones usually have a function key instead of a row of F keys.

Literally every single keyboard I had always had those, including notebook keyboards.
What kind of cucked 40% keyboard are you using? A gamepad?

I somehow was exposed to MM then got OoT later. I spent so many hours just to get the masks to work (mostly so I could roll around as a Goron) and for some reason thought the OoT number on the save file was somehow related. For anyone curious the number was a death count.

Played KOTOR on Xbox as a kid got softlocked at the Admiral Karath boss fight because my characters were all built so terribly because I had no idea how to play RPG's properly and only beaten JRPG's through grinding. Didn't beat the game until I played it on PC many years later.

I got stuck in final fantasy X so many times. that was the hardest game I ever played. Seymour on gagazet was literally impossible and I had to get somebody to beat it for me. And the gauntlet style fight on the beach by besaid I think, it took me like 10 hours to beat that boss. I’m not even sure how, like today I can probably beat any final fantasy without even trying. I’m pretty sure I can beat x with my cock pressing the X button and the control stick up my sphincter to move the character around. My balls could be used for your mom to suck on my balls. Your mom can suck on my dick too and I’ll shit into her mouth and she will digest it into a more powerful form.

I got stuck on the Sun Key puzzle in Phantom Hourglass for two weeks straight before I had to buy a guide due to no internet.
When the game said "press the chart to the symbol" I interpreted the bottom screen's map moving to the top as the "press" so I kept trying to draw the symbol in the right place and hoping that'd be enough. At no point during all that time did I ever close the DS.

As far as vidya is concerned, I guess my dislike for random battles in JRPGs made them harder than they needed to be, since I would run constantly and only engage when that wasn't an option. The other thing would be brute forcing Pokémon games and beating the Elite Four with an overleveled starter and five shitheads.

>The other thing would be brute forcing Pokémon games and beating the Elite Four with an overleveled starter and five shitheads.
I mean that really is the optimal strategy. I've been playing through FR on the switch, and I somehow miraculously got to the E4 with a bunch of pokemon that are 15 levels lower than lorelei's pokemon. The trainers in victory road were so much more difficult in FRLG than in RBY, but now that I got to the E4, I have no hope of beating them with my current levels. I'm going to have to do a retarded amount of grinding now and I just really don't want to.

>>736843317
It wasn't until RSE that it occurred to me that being able to tank the water gym with a fire type was not the intended experience. Well, aside from Yellow where I caught a Mankey because dealing with Brock was too much for a Pikachu. In that case, I beat the Elite Four with an overleveled Primeape, four shitheads, and a Pikachu I couldn't box.

i straight up didn't junction any magic in ff8 when i was a kid, i'd sit there and grind out boss battles that would take literally hours spamming guardian forces. i'd just leave the game running mid-battle if i had to go do something. still loved it

I didn't know you were supposed to hit the enemies from below and then run into them in Mario Bros. I played it first in SMW for GBA and had no manual. I figured it out by accident.
