Man strikers 1945 II is cool as fuck, I keep finding new stuff I can get away with. I don't know why, but the proximity subshots in psyiko games are super addictive. These games are super punchy.

Basically, 1cc is the only way to play shmups in a way where they actually resemble an actual game instead of the coin muncher (gachashit of their era) that they truly always were. Quite often these games are just meant to be coin fed until you win, although that isn't always true. Games like R-Type have absolutely brutal checkpoints. This is to encourage you to start the grind from the beginning instead, wasting even more money.

Just copyfag the good players. Rhythm games are all about reading charts, being able to look at a chart and know where to put your hands is the entire game (except for ones like taiko and ddr that test stamina as well)the high level charts, even watching in slow motion it might be unclear to an intermediate player exactly how to hit the notes in time
