Rule of Rose has you fight, has you do it surprisingly often between multiple forced mob encounters and boss fights like Hoffman and the mermaid, and with a combat system that feels like Silent Hill 2's melee systems minus any bugtesting. The hitboxes are atrocious and the animations versus feedback don't quite lineup correctly sometimes. I've beaten it twice so it's certainly doable, but it's never joyful. That all said, I think RoR is a much stronger and more consistent package than HG aside from the combat, especially as HG's second half is a straight shitshow. But man, that one problem with RoR is a hell of a doozy.
