Do you use guides when you get stuck in video games?
>>
Messy bed
>>
>>736829215
No I just cheat. Fuck games.
>>
>>736829215
I can't judge this guy because this puzzle always takes me forever to figure out too even though I've done it multiple times.
>>
>>736829215
If there's a lot of missables, especially in a jrpg or something, I absolutely do a guide to get everything, especially if there's a bitchin weapon or armor that's not on the main path
>>
>>736829778
how would you know without first looking it up?
>>
>>736829896
You play enough games, you kinda get a sense of which do that and which don't
Modern games don't offer much in that way anymore, they barely even do unlockables, but are more than happy using passes and dlc as crutches
That said, philosophically, for me, games are for fun, and that's how I have fun with those games
>>
>>736829215
Depends. In most singleplayer games, I don't. But If I get stuck at something for a hour+ I do. I most commonly use guides in games I finish and enjoy enough to replay and have fun looking up meta strategies and consesus opinions. Like in multiplayer games or strategy games.

When it comes to old JRPGs or CRPGs, the issue is less about getting stuck and more about not getting bored and dropping the game.

Same. Also streamers have an inherent disadvantage in being seen by other people. It's already an issue for action games and such but for puzzle and strategy games, unless it's a high stakes scenario that has all your focus, your performance will be triply affected by peer pressure.

>ok that means the case is 10
No, it means that the camera is 300 + the cost of the case.
If x is the cost of the case, then 300+x is the cost of the camera. And the cost of the set is (300+x) + x = 310 --> 300 + 2x = 310 --> 2x = 10 --> x = 5.
Thus, the case just costs 5. And the camera costs 305. So if you just want the case and hand over 100, you should get 95 back. The trick is understanding that the cost of the case is technically counted twice.

You're confusing yourself with the x and y bullshit.
The words are very straightforward and not actually confusing, misleading or tricksy.

>Set costs £310
>Camera is 300 more than case
>Case costs set minus camera
Set minus camera ..is just case
So set (310) minus camera (300) ..is case (10)

There is no need for x2-y and yx(5)
It's a word puzzle, not an algebra test and if the game says otherwise then the devs did the same horseshit you did and worded the question in a bizarre way to try and catch people out

#4C2909?
>>
>>736840460
well, the case and camera set being 310 is assumed to be the sale price. That means it can be a lower price than if you buy the two separately, so technically the other anons are right.

Yes the puzzle says that case + camera = 310 but it doesnt say the camera is 300. It says the camera is 300 more than the case. Similarly, it doesnt say that the case price is the camera price minus the case price, it says the case costs 310 minus the value of the camera.
>>
>>736840460
if the camera is $300 more than the case ($10) the camera would cost $310. but we know the price for the set is $310 including the case.
>>
>>736840020
This is a condemnation of his parents
>>
>>736839203
Actually it was the developers who ruined my first playthrough because they put missable stuff in the game that I missed.
>>
>>736833623
why the fuck are there so many retarded browns in here
if they're 310 and one is 300 more than the other it's just a+(a+300) = 310, so one's 5 and one is 305.

"Case costs the price of both minus the camera" is just meant to sound confusing, but it's saying the case's price is the case's price.

Am I going insane? Is this shitposting? This is 2nd grade stuff.

You still make it sound like a can opener is some complex mechanism. My entire point is that not being able to figure out how it works is a sign of retardation because it is so simple.

Word of mouth. The only bullshit point in the game is that you need to ignore Professor Booster in the Labyrinth and progress onwards so he doesn't give up the ghost and makes it back to Arthur's house, so he can finish working on the Booster 2.0. The natural course of action would be to jump down that pit and check on him.

310 (camera) + 10 (case) = 320

You Google "<Game name> missable" before you ever start up the game. I refuse to start a game without doing that. Unless the game intends for you to replay it and pushes for NG+ runs I'm not doing that to get one item I missed. I'm 43 and this is exactly how I approach puzzles and always have. I can't stand them in games and will immediately cheat or look it up if possible. No, SHF, I'm not figuring out what the fuck this puzzle box is or what the riddle means, I'm JUST going to look it up instantly and fuck you for shitting the game up with it.

I have absolutely no idea how people can visualize sokoban moves like that without doing them first. I can see that I can move a rock up or a rock to the left, but I can't visualize what the setup would look like after those scenarios or what moves I could make after that.

Not only is that the greatest lie they ever say, they also earnestly believe it through the power of selective memory. They're the literal example of that autism lunch basket test

>Dad I need your ID to file some paperwork, where is it
>Sh'in the wallet, at its place
>...And your wallet is?
>Are you fucking retarded how do you not know where I leave my wallet at
>>
>>736859298
He doesn't understand that the middle one's arrow comes from after the left and right because he can't visualize that state. Because he is baiting you
>>
>>736859298
No retard, what fucking technique? The closest arrow to the player is one moving left that is impossible to make without moving the one directly above him first. If you intended to convey that first step, illustrate that.
>>
>>736855483
All I know is I watched her download one file and find her downloads folder with it there, and then downloading another file didn't show it there. Either way the obtuse file navigation is something I'd associate with kids having difficulty with the same thing these days.
>>
>>736859382
>durr everything is bait
I'm so tired of this shithole, same with the snarky visualize comment. If you are teaching someone something, do not skip steps and assume they are obvious. Absolutely NOTHING can be assumed to be obvious when teaching.
>>
>>736859398
This is either bait or autism. Nobody said you do the arrows in order of proximity to the player. If you can't perform a move, maybe you do that part second? Just a thought.
>>
>>736859637
If you are teaching a technique, you cover every single last step no matter how obvious it is. If I'm teaching someone how to do something in Photoshop and the first thing I say is "select the Pen tool" without explaining what it is or where to find it, I have failed automatically. It is something where being EXTREMELY pedantic is beneficial.

'Woke' began as the entry-level to Critical Race Theory, the bogeyman the US has shat itself over for a decade now. It's entirely about problem-solving in a legal context, such as a discrimination case where an employer is accused of discriminating against black female workers, but the defence's argument is that the racial element should be dismissed because they didn't discriminate against black workers and the sex element should be dismissed because they didn't discriminate against women workers.

A few months ago I wasted a couple hours of a Sunday morning arguing at length with a drooling idiot over Dark Messiah making erroneous claims about the game itself only for him to eventually reveal (for the sake of mocking me for being old) that he just watched someone play the game on Youtube and was born a year before it came out. A few days ago I got recommended a youtube video essay that I didn't watch made by someone who is 22 years old ranting about how offensive early Newgrounds games were - someone born well after the fact telling me that shit I played when it was new is bad and I shouldn't like it. The entire internet is this way now.

Nope. I want to 100% games. Ever since I was a kid 100%ing games is what I have liked to do and I feel a sense of completion having done it. It's why I hate missables and can't ignore their existence. I went to NG+3 on Elden Ring just so I could have a trimmed copy of armor and then the normal armor itself.

Imagine being such a pathetic namefag that you think anyone cares about your digital doll collection. You’ve turned a hobby into a literal unpaid internship for a Japanese foot fetishist. It’s not "completionism," it’s a clinical symptom of having zero control over your real life. The fact that you need a tripcode to broadcast your "achievements" on an anonymous board tells us exactly how much of a non-entity you are. Put the controller down and go outside; the sun won't give you a missable trophy, and neither will we. NGMI.

Imagine being so socially maladapted that you think failing to explain a literal child’s puzzle is a flex on other people’s IQ. You didn’t "trust the reader’s intelligence," you just lack the basic communication skills to articulate a simple sequence of events. You’re only seething this hard because you tried to larp as a mentor and ended up looking like a pedant who can't even label a diagram correctly. The fact that you’re still here, four posts deep, trying to "win" an argument about instructions for a 40 year old box-pushing game proves you have the temperament of a toddler. Real intelligence is being able to simplify a concept, not being so retarded you leave out the start of the solution and then crying when people call you out on it. Take the L and go back to your coloring books, cham

Why do americans have those giant machines with levers and shit to open cans when literally all you need is this

They are small, durable, easy to store and actually intuitive on how to use. I learned how to use them by myself and I've personally watched 3 other people learn it by just trying.
>>
>>736840020
I think it's less any sort of political issue and more just a modern design issue. A lot of things are designed to be very self-labeled and automatic. I'm barely a zoomer (At one of the exact years people argue is or isn't the border) so I'm just old enough to have grown up in like the very last fringes of most things still having an intuition requirement to use. That plus natural curiosity means I do actually try to experiment with things to figure out how they work. Most people I've seen my age do similar.
This kid probably has never had to do any sort of experimenting or intuiting, and due to how fragile a lot of automated systems are doing either of those things just break the fuckin thing and you learn nothing.
