I really want this chair for gaming and long internet/computer sessions but it's $1000, it's not worth it, right?
>>
$1000 for a chair :I go to office depot instead
>>
>>736831285
that's even more scammy than spending 1k on a chair
>>
>>736831205
How can that possibly cost 1000
>>
I always find it funny how no one can really agree on what are the best chairs to buy, they're either overpriced Herman Miller shit or shitty office chairs without a proper headrest.
>>
if you are looking at that price class just get a herman miller aeron or a steelcase leap if you want to go towards 500 bucks instead

It's a chair.

I spent a lot of money on this herman miller embody chair (price of headrest was separate so almost too much) and i don't regret spending as much money as i did because it simply makes me comfortable all the time in which other lower priced chairs were not achieving. Your chair and monitor are the most important part of your setup outside your computer itself. That and good headphones or speakers are the primary things of important in a setup and everything else is secondary. Such as how much you spend on a mouse or keyboard, irrelevant after thought.
A chair determines how long you actually feel like sitting without feeling the need to get up and thats always an important factor. The most important factor when you think about it.
If what you're asking is something too expensive? no it's usually not because making an actually comfortable office chair is a delicate balance of a lot of things to end up with something comfortable. Besides most people spend a good chunk of money on their couch because they don't want something awful, so the same logic applies. You shouldn't think of the chair as anything lesser just because people buy awful racing chairs for next to nothing or some cheap piece of crap from ikea that breaks down often.
For me spending as much as i did and then being really happy with the results because I've just been marathoning my backlog in peak comfort in which i was unable to do previously only speaks to the merits of why a good chair matters.

I bought a $60 high-backed gaming chair off of amazon like 8 years ago, put a thin seat cushion on it, a soft blanket over the main body and extra thick arm rest pad covers. I sit in it for 12+ hours a day and it is still not only functional, but comfortable. The blanket makes it more comfortable to sit in without a shirt and is easily washable, so I don't end up with a nasty stained le gamer chair.
You do not need to spend $1000 dollars on a chair. If you want to spend that much, buy an overstuffed recliner. The gaming chairs are a meme but nobody wants to sell high-backed office chairs in any other form factor, and I like having back support. I'm 6'4", so all the normal mid-back ones come up to the bottom of my ribcage and not only offer poor support, but are actively uncomfortable to lean back on.

you can buy a refurbished steel case for half that

6'2" here and I have the same complaint, it's really hard finding non-gaming chairs with taller backs and a comfortable headrest that don't cost an arm and a leg. I need to change mine soon, the back is not vertical anymore and if I try to lean back, I pretty much lay on a 160° angle, and it's starting to peel off to boot.

Wheres the rest of the chair?

>plastic squeaking noises: the chair
I shiggy diggy

Also 6'4" and the closest I've been able to find is a chair that gets to the base of my neck.

Wait, are you me? I don't remember posting this.

The only sounds i hear is from stretching on the back like what is intended with the design. I don't hear squeaking at all?
The flexing sounds is the only audible thing and releasing pressure off the backrest creates a small audible sound. Thats again apart of the design and something unavoidable due to it being pressure based in its recline.
Or to be more clear theres never anything high pitched and squeaking/creaking. More of the sound of flex and very lowly audible thumbs of the pressure of rocking back and forth motion if that makes sense. Its pretty quiet if you're not considering the fact that a flexible back is supposed to sound a certain way.
