The steam deck didn't sell that well when compared to its competitors. I think the main issue was the pricing. Too high and no one will buy, too low and it'll sell out within minutes and new stock will take months, maybe even years to come in. I think Valve badly wants this product to have a smooth launch and sell well unlike the last steam machine.
