The biggest issue though, that is not unique to ZZZ but probably every other game in the genre, is that the endgame modes don't utilize the combat correctly. All the modes are on a timer. This means that combat devolves into mindlessly mashing out the optimal rotation to squeeze out as much damage as possible, so you don't actually interact with the opponent much because paying attention to attacks and dodging, etc. is a dps loss that you can't afford. We are at the point where support characters are without fail just press EX special and switch out, in order to facilitate this playstyle. I wonder why they even bother designing and adding elaborate basic attack, etc. animations when you will never see it with those characters since you just switch in press a button and bye. This is what killed the game for me.

It just feels a lot longer when you're up to date with the live content, and ZZZ has a tendency of laying things on really thick. It also feels at odds with the game before that because it's EXTREMELY Chinese.With all that said, the story content is still pretty short until you get to the big patch version story payoff which coincided with Shungus showing up, so that eats more of your time. I still think the semi-open areas of the Lemnian Hollow are a dramatic improvement for regular/story content over TV mode.
