What's your favorite Bloodborne weapon and WHY do you stick by it?
I never truly stick with it.Chikage might be my favorite. Sexy katana moveset, fun risk-reward, stylish as fuck and it's rewarding to work towards it.I wish I liked the Blades of Mercy more.Reiterpalasch is another favorite of mine, even though I have to admit that it's not that good.Everyone loves the Holy Moonlight Sword.Hunter Axe is probably my favorite pure strength weapon.
>>736845737saw cleaverit just werks
Tonitrus is up there.Even if its not as batshit insane as the cleaver saws or the Chikage.
>>736845737I just like hitting things with Kirkhammer. Don't know why, I'm not even a fan of hammers in Souls or Elden Ring.
for me, it's the saw spear
>>736845737
>>736846348it's hefty
>>736846772Comical too. Everything else you can somewhat understand the practical implementation of even if it's stupid or unrealistic like the whips, but then you have a tombstone with a short sword sheath that lock it in sideways.
Blade of Mercy Its got damage, its got speed, its got style. No other weapon makes me feel like a hunter like this one
>>736845737I just really like the charge attack followups
>>736846306>Tonitrus is up there.Holy fucking retard. Tonitrus might be the worst weapon in the game. It's not even a trick weapon, "tricking" it just applies bolt paper. It has ONE move: swing. In a game with a dozen super-cool weapons you chose the most boring one of them all. Even the Yahar'gul Hunter that wields it is killed on dreamless runs because he's pathetically easy and drops like 7 bolt paper.Pathetic.
aaaaand somehow I dropped this, hurr
HMS is by far the best designed trick weapon in BB. Universally good moveset including trick attacks that actually serve a mechanical purpose (heavy hyperarmor on claymore into MLGS trick, insane amount of knockdown on MLGS into claymore trick), fantastic moveset variety, solid projectiles and probably the most hilarious L2 in BB.
>>736845737Has anyone invented their own bb trick weapon?
I love Rakuyo.
>>736847780If it was for me, i would add the cane like the one used by pthumerian elder. In untricked mode it has all attacks used by him. In tricked mode it unzips a cane sword.
>>736848028Like blade has? Segments tying into a sword?
>>736845737For me it's Stake Driver>whyI like the simplicity of charging a big explosionSecond pick would be Boom Hammer
>>736847780I made a homebrew TTRPG system based on Bloodborne, turning it into a pen-and-paper game. With the goal of using all stats, items and equipment from the game.Couldn't help myself and added some of my own trick weapons. Including dual-hatches (similar to the BoM), a ring blade (it spins), a church fire sword, a Cairnhurst poleaxe, poison daggers that can also poison the user when switching modes, and a rifle axe.Mostly to fill some gaps. But it's also fun.
Saw Spear is simple and effective.Other weapons might look more impressive or be better suited for some enemies/situations, but saw spear is never bad.
what is it about Bloodborne combat that makes it feels so good? I'm talking about the gamefeel, it actually feels like you're cutting into your enemies' flesh. it's missing from the other games.
>>736848430The enemies flinch a lot more from attacks. Even bosses.
a pistol and a saw cleaver. thats all i need
>>736847780There's a mod overhaul for elden ring in the works called Graceborne which adds a bunch of new original trick weapons. Like a saw blade gauntlet that transforms into a saw blade scythe type weapon. There's a heavy one handed axe sword thing that detaches and turns into a blue spark sword and shield, kinda like a charge blade from MH. My favorite one though is a giant metal coffin with a handle that transforms into a giant shield (being the coffin) and a greatsword, and the moveset involves a lot of crushing slamming attacks with the coffin with a mix of sword slashes, attacks also have block frames because of the sheer size of the coffin you're wielding on your back
nobody can stop the oreo
>>736845737>What's your favorite Bloodborne weapon Threaded Cane>and WHY do you stick by it?I have one in real life
>>736845737Whirligig it’s sick as hell
>>736848189The ring is like a spinning sharp metal blade? Explain the hatches and the pole axe. Rifle axe is just a rifle with an axe?
>>736849203That's good to know. Plenty of work went in this one. Will it ever come out?
>>736849904I'm hopeful it will, the dev is very active on development. Mod was last updated about a week ago, tidying up some of the armors and adding new sounds for the weapons. That said, it's still fairly early on. Most of the overworld is untouched, so most dungeons and most overworld encounters and pretty much vanilla. In it's current state it's basically Elden Ring but with an overall Bloodborne aesthetic, with a bunch of custom made trick weapons and bloodborne style armors scattered about to play with. It'd say it's worth a play if you're in the mood to play something like Bloodborne
>>736849858>The ring is like a spinning sharp metal blade? It's inspired by Tira from Soul Calibur. Pic related. In trick-mode, it adds Bloodtinge damage, and the hunter cuts himself on the blade with each attack.>hatchesVery simple weapon, skill-based. Hits hard in one-handed mode. In trick-mode, it splits itself into two hatches for additional attacks.>pole axeI wanted a strength-based weapons for Cainhurst characters. Somewhat similar to the Hunters Axe, one-handed big axe in normal mode, two-handed weapon with a lot of reach in trick-mode. The character gets a bonus to defending himself in trick-mode, since it was supposed to be the weapon of bodyguards and household troops of the nobles.>Rifle axe is just a rifle with an axe?Basically a strength variant of the rifle spear. In trick-mode, the user is stationary, as he uses the axe-part as a pedestal for the rifle part. (Might have been inspired by these russian soldiers back in the gunpowder age)
>>736850157Is there a single good and complete overhaul for a souls borne?
>>736850646>himself on the blade with each attack. You use that often, eh? Shit katana killed me during the moon presence. Twice!>soul caliburHoly shit, it's huge.>two hatches per hatchLike a dual axe from neverwinter?>stationary Oh, right. One way to do it. Thought it's just an axe blade instead of an bayonet. All in all good trick weapons. I like themTrying to come up with some weapons for my setting im working on for fun.
>>736845737Its the beast cutter for me. I liked the kirkhammer and its heft but ended up preferring this weapon's feel
>>736848189>ttrpg system
>>736851653>Trying to come up with some weapons for my setting im working on for funYeah, it's great fun. We have barely scratched the iceberg. The concept and the aesthetics are so unique, there needs to be more of this.
>>736851741I wanted to suggest him that he can upload and monetize it. Sounds good enough. Most pay content is shit. No wonder, which talented person would do this as main job?
>>736851749Picrel is something else. Not doing bb. It's in the making, but basically a celestial object where complex life started, but there are plenty of gadgets lying around. I later learned of numenera, but it wasn't an inspiration. Was looking for something "that hasn't been done".
>>736845737For me it's the beast cutter BUT I wish we could let out the same beastly screams nightmare hunters use when fighting.
>>736847087There's a tiny messenger inside the brick who's locking the sword with his teeth when you sheath it.
>>736851986Yeah theres a lot of ttrpg systems on sale on itch io for a few bucks
>>736848430visually striking pain state/blood projections/dynamic moves with transformations and sidesteps
Cane
>>736851741Thanks for the interest.https://litter.catbox.moe/94472qhux9qugqko.pdfActually run some sessions; it works, though I couldn't test everything.>>736851986I'm not going to charge money for some basic document.>>736852081Huh, sounds interesting.
>>736852546Cowboy hat doesnt fit, it looks too modern.BB's aesthetics is 18th century Europe, not 19th century America.
>>736845737saw spear early game for its wide horizontal attacksaw cleaver to shit on amygdala and ebrietas since the vertical attack hits their head for massive damagechurch pick because it's good against everything, serrated damage + fire paper for beasts, piercing damage + electric paper for aliumsstake driver is cool as fuck but it's really fucking badalso tried bloodtinge, guns, crits and it was pretty good
kirkhammer, or anything strength. recently started an agility playthrough and the whip cane fucking sucks
>>736852546If my hunter is showing skin I'm not interested. It's respectful of the theme of the game to have them fully covered to hide their slow descent into beasts. In opposition to that the suspicious beggar is near fully naked.
>>736852901Spear and clever aren't stylish enough I find. Church pick with the attack scraping the floor was unmitigated holy kino.
>>736852546what a fucking horrible outfitlooks like a woman dressed by a man
>>736852984>>736853039>Out out OUT, this is a safe space here, what are the mods doing!? Someone is posting sexist and objectifying shit on my Discord server!!!
>>736853130it's just bad taste broit's not that deep
>>736852314Few bucks are the perfect price. The asset inflation driven by corrupt politicians, crude billionaires and economy dissolving platforms ruined the dollar. 1 dollar was once 1/30 gold coin and actual money. 100 dollar nowadays are basically needed per day for a barely decent life in metropolitan areas around the globe.
>>736853130>that's out of place and sticking out like a character from nu-nier>NOOO YOU HATE WOMEN, TRANNY TRANNY TRANNYfine, here's a picture of the next hunter models we expect from you
>>736852546Even with an injury system, neat.>not charging moneyI hear ye.>settingStill working on an unseen or not overused magic system. Best thing I have as Genesis of it is that soul strength draws magic or powers to oneself. Still wip as I'm unhappy with it. Working on new races and clans or factions if you will. Horror themed. Still researching some psychology of old classics and why people laugh or fear and ofc watching classic horror relentlessly. Night of the living dead has cultural critique in it, I think it would fit my setting. His house is another good horror. Weapons form whitest kid you know comedian is technically well made, but has a very weak climax or rather resolution. This makes horror, the final part. If this fails, everything fails. Bloodborne does this excellently and hence is part of us now. >bloodborne Obviously the pc is the surrogate of the invisible god that is yearning for said surrogate. Having full insight leads to the pc hearing the cries of the mergo his predecessor.
>>736852713>mimimi Idc
>>736846772Didn't even know this existed. Maybe I should do another run. Is it in the dlc? I started the dlc, but the guys fucking owned me good so I never beat the first 5 enemies or so.
>>736852546I offer a moderate stance, keep the sexo (because it's not that bad) but maybe make it so she can theoretically cover it in close combat if she wanted to avoid getting blood/filth spilled on bare skin. People have less room to complain it looks too far from the usual fighting garbs if it's implied to be only her out-of-combat appearance. Idk.
>>736845737I went kirk hammer or whatever it was called. The idea of a hammer with a sword basis was just too cool
When it first came out I wanted so bad to play as an executioner on my early playthroughs, but I could never get myself to like the wheel. On my most recent runs I tried the chikage and loved it. It's really fun, and I like that it's a blend of eastern and western designs. Pairing it with the knight set and evelyn looks god tier. Sorry wheelbros.
>>736845737I love the aesthetic of the Beast Cleaver, but the moveset isn't fast enough and good at stunlocking or at least its DPS isn't high enough to feel viable.
>>736855608Bruh. You literally unlock this weapon by killing the cleric beast and getting a hunter badge from it.
>>736845737There are so many its genuinely hard for me to choose. If I had to make a shortlist>kirkhammer>wheel>church pick>beast cutter
>>736847605>Might be the worst weapon in the game >Not even a trick weapon It always makes me laugh when the true worst weapon was so bad people removed it from their memory. The damn spear shotgun is the worst weapon on the game.
>game's weapons scale off your character stats in very specific ways>these stats are invested point-by-point and cannot be re-allocated once assigned>many of the most popular weapons are late-game rewards, meaning you usually have to plan ahead to allocate your stats for the weapon you eventually want to use and have to use some other shitty thing until then>and even after you get the weapon, you have little of the game left to use it in unless you do NG+ and beyondIt's honestly crazy how this shit ever became popular, because Fromslop character progression is usually like brainstorming the most retarded ways to gain power and then using the best (worst) ideas all at the same time.
>>736858225It worked okay in des/das1 and 2 because those games had a much more open world design, and those games had a higher quantity of weapons that all were all more similar to each other. Bloodbornes greatest flaw is not deviating more from the souls formula and keeping the levelling AND upgrading system which makes no sense in this kind of game. Its even more baffling because the gem system would be a perfect replacement if its functionality was expanded but its a non factor for 95% of the game.
>>736845737Best Claw for the unmatched unga bunga, however fuck chalice dungeons and fuck Laurence
>>736857442Huh? I don't remember. I had a cane, later something I don't remember and then some daikatana.>>736857690Right, I had the wheel. It glows purple or something.
>>736858225>ever became popular>>736853986>Bloodborne does this excellently and hence is part of us now.
>>736856974Looks sheriff like. Good. Did it yourself?
>>736858225like >>736858580 said, you forgot that you are spending the entire game upgrading that weapon so even if you find one that perfectly fits your build, its just going to be worse because it isnt upgraded anyway.
Has anyone did a beast run? Does it change the ending? Kinda should.
The swiss army knife of Bloodborne. There’s better weapons, sure, but there’s no situation it can’t carry you through.>solid base damage and scaling>transformed L2 overheads for high targets>wide swings for crowd control>quick untricked attacks>economical stamina per attack in both forms>slashes and thrusts in both forms ensure it will always have a way around enemy resistancesAhh, perfection.
>>736859628>There’s better weapons, sureNo, it's pretty much the best weapon. Why is this fucking thing allowed to be a great strength, great skill AND great arcane weapon?
>>736845737I forget what it's called but the mace that turned into a giant bloody maul when you stab yourselfshit is cool as fuck
>>736859998Bloodletter
>>736845737For me its the Burial Blade, you can circumvent the usual beat the game requirement by diving into a false depth chalice right after blood starved beast and buying it from a messenger bath shop. They sell everything except dlc weapons and Beast Claws. You can find the Claws in false depth treasure chests too. They're fun to use on a new run.
