Fight me has problems
1. You can't play it with 2+ cost cards, for example vuln cards like bash without energy gain
2. it's own 10 damage attack is not boosted by str it gains

It's not a great card (neither are twin strake/inflame) but 1 less card in your deck means you're getting to your other cards faster which is the #1 priority on hallway fights. It has an immediate impact compared to just drawing inflame by itself. Until you play an attack inflame is 1 energy do nothing, so it's way worse when you're behind or if you bottom deck it.
Inflame is better on bosses because after you play the power all that's left in your deck for the second cycle is a 1 energy deal (5+3)x2 which is okay value and definitely better than fight me, as well as not buffin the enemy multi attacks. You don't want to play fight me against any act 2 elite because all three of them have mutli attacks.
However if your energy has a huge burst of energy, low draw cycle and the ability to play many multiattacks repatedly, fight me is better because you can quickly play it a couple times and scale your attack into stupidness for really high damage really quickly.
It's a very situational question and it's impossible to give universal advice.

I don't see many reasons to pick Fight Me at all unless you're beyond desperate for damage, but you don't have to play every card you draw if it's bad for the fight. Perhaps your deck also has decent exhaust synergy and can get rid of it in elite fights, I don't know. This is a hypothetical discussion after all.

I only used not yet thrice or something. This deck obliterated hallways and I was basically full hp after using it once vs the doorman. On another note, if you pick the neow relic that gives you an extra defend and strike and you roll lucky fysh you instantly get 30 gold. Add it to the journal of scientific findings.

Why is it okay for regular enemies especially very early on, to deal ~15-40 damage chunks per turn for 3 turns in a row? Are you expected to have a 100% uptime of weak and ~30 block for every single turn?

I've got a pretty fun run going with a Leafy Poultice giving Squeeze and Sic'Em but I'm not sure what to pick here. I want souls since I've got Automation and want to cycle past lots of eventual bad Osty attacks to reach Squeeze however both of them can help with that. Seance tightens the deck but is less fun and Devour Life could keep me alive.

Let's talk about RARE BLOAT.
StS1 character card ratios (ignoring starter cards)
>Ironclad: 72 cards (20C 36U 16R)
>Silent: 71 cards (19C 33U 19R)
>Defect: 71 cards (18C 36U 17R)
That means that respectively (when offered a rare card reward)
>Ironclad: 22% of his kit are rares, 19% chance to see a given rare on a RCR
>Silent: 27% of her kit are rares, 16% chance to see a given rare on a RCR
>Defect: 24% of its kit are rares, 18% chance to see a given rare on a RCR
Now StS2. Excluding multiplayer exclusive cards everyone has 85 unique cards following this rarity distribution:
>80 cards (20C 35U 25R)
Wikis say they have 87~89 cards but that's counting
>Three/four basic cards (depending on character)
>Two multiplayer cards
>Two ancient rewards
So, for any given character the distribution is as follows
>31% of their kit are rares, 12% chance to see a given rare on a RCR

So the numbers say that there are too many fucking rare cards. And when they include so many synergistic effects instead of transformative ones it makes rare card rewards actually kind of fucking shit overall. Especially since the ceiling bump of many archetypes is gated behind rare cards.

Fighting queen and trying to get value out of rampage is like dragging your balls through glass, half the time it's unplayable and then if you do manage to scale it the scaling is ass because you're weakened. Similarly with doormaker, on the exhaust phase you can't play it, on the nod raw phase you won't be able to draw it, and in the energy down phase there's probably gonna be other cards you'd rather play instead of it, so.......

The most scuffed fucking run of all time. I never got any good damage cards this entire run, so all of my damage was thorns, golden axe, snakebite, and some pitiful strikes and shivs. Getting barricade honestly saved it, without that I wouldn't have been able to turtle forever until I got my golden axe damage up.

Just beat my first A10 run with Necrobinder.

The Experiment was a complete pushover. Call of the void gave me Eidolon with a 10 card hand when the Queen's simp was about to attack me for lethal, and two Pull from Belows fucking deleted the queen.
Can't help but feel that if I had gotten Doormaker my run would've just ended. I still have no fucking idea how you're supposed to counter him.
His first phase is one thing, but the second can easily brick your hand if you don't have something like Fiddle, Machine learning or Pael's blood, and the third is just fucking stupid. All of this while he consntantly hits for 40+ damage. Pure bullshit.

I for one don't believe that al rares have to be good. There has to be some shitty cards in every card game.
What I did realize is that my winrate was much higher on A7 than A9, and that's precisely because so many of the rares are supposed to be the cherry on top of a deck. Think Trash to Treasure, Flak Cannon, All for One, Cruelty, Barricade, Soul Storm, Knife Trap, etc.
As a result, Act 1 is all about raw strength and act 2 is about pivoting your deck in regards the rares you have, because they're they ones that will enable you to scale faster.

If Elites dropped rares more consistently, they'd be worth doing and it would lead to more consistent gameplay.

if youve beat act 1 youre probably fine. in sts2 difficulty peaks with act 1, and the remaining acts give you enough breathing room to patch any holes in your deck at a relatively leaisurely pace (ie they afford you a lot of skips)

in sts1, act 2 was the huge difficulty spike, and then once you cleared that you immediately had to start thinking about act 4. not to mention two of the act 3 bosses hard countering specific builds. there were constantly specific threats hanging over your head that youd potentially need to take cards for the sole reason of countering.

in sts2, if you have a deck with enough generalist strength to clear act 1, all you need to do is continually scaling your ability to block and deal damage

I'm playing Defect right now with a deck that's functioning around feral 0 cost attacks and floor 1 hyperbeam so I decided to pick Ironclad on the idea that maybe I'll hit some strength scaling options or at least the commons like pommel strike or headbutt but the event gave me Barricade and it's performing wonderfully with the damage coming from 0 costs and the rest of the energy going into stockpiling block. I said this but I just won another run with Beat Into Shape as the main driver of sword growth.

essentially early game I went with star synergies > radiate and hoped for at least some multi hits so I could boost the sword.

Havoc at least has some utility because you can plan around it. You can either manipulate the deck with headbutt or just gamble on it but at the very least you get to play the card when you exhaust it.
Meanwhile Drum of Battle exhausts whatever it wants every turn and there's nothing you can do about it and you don't even get the use of the card being exhausted its just fucking gone. Oh well just don't play it until you're ready to end the fight within a turn or two and then you get a free draw. Sick, I love having a curse in my deck that I can use one time to draw two and then if I dont draw something good then I risk losing the run entirely because my best card gets eaten next turn.

Maybe I'm just not seeing the vision, but I don't see a reason to ever get this card on Ironclad. I can see some meme synergy where you get like Afterimage and go nuts but aside from that, I don't think Ironclad even has enough sources of block to ever make this 2 cost power justifiable. I've yet to take it intentionally in a normal run but I got it off a transform early once and then got relic synergy and it became the focus of my run. It's pretty amazing early with cloak clasp and toric toughness.

Jesus wept this guy is actually trash isn't he? Elites go from bad to murderfuck you. I thought the prism boss was kinda a joke but he starts putting out 45 damage in 4 turns. It's insane how much harder encounters get from 8 to 9. Hallway fights feel like Elites now, and Elites feel like, well, harder than bosses actually. Damage is excessively overtuned for basically every single Elite on 9.

I think it's just that he's still basically his StS1 self. If I don't get some gg combo like Hellraiser with infinite draw or cloned Colossus it is fucking hell. Elites aren't even worth going for, there's so many dogwater relics and even when I am cruisin some bosses like the Knowledge Demon are just incredibly overtuned. 36 (41) ((47)) damage on his second phase is absurd.
