>Bro, remember Tarkov? What if we made a game that is double as punishing and intricate
>But also what if unlike Tarkov there were no secure containers at all so? EVERYTHING can be lost at all times
>But also remember those shitty 90s games? What if we made 2 maps about collecting colored keycards with maze-like map designs?
>But also what if we made an RPG with builds and different classes stats so pros can get kitted and plan their ass fucker teams and dominate?
>But also unlike EFT and Hunt make the game very movement heavy with hard damage dropoffs and arcade style weapon ranges
Honestly, as a EFT player, Marathon is too fucking hard and high skill ceiling.

How come gatekeeping isn't saving this game?

Yup, it's quite brutal
>>
It's genuinely experimental.
Shit like a ranked mode in a extraction shooter has never really been done before and as far as I'm aware none have done FOMO/YHTBT stuff to the level that bungie does in one either.
Which makes it all the more baffling that it's bungie doing this kind of stuff especially with Sony, supposedly, breathing down their neck.
No idea how it got greenlit, how it continued to be approved or how it got released from a AAA dev from a AAA publisher.

Bungie is fully independent and had a lot more sway than most studios over Sony

People placed bets on Polymarket that it would shut down

>YHTBT
You had to be there?
