Terrain generation looks neat. This is Unreal Engine as opposed to CS2 Unity.
The scale is kinda cuts. Reminds me of B1M UE videos lol
This part reminds me of Transport Fever 3
>>736868418>UE5Yeah I'll believe it when I see someone actually playing it.
>>736868653What's so hard to believe? Nanite lets you load assets like these better than Unity.I remember people doubting Inzoi...
I find it queer how this game got mainstream vidya journocuck coverage like in PCgamer while Citystate Metropolis was ghosted. Despite Citystate Metropolis having detailed dev logs and previous entries.Maybe because Citystate Metropolis dev is a Polish political bigot?
>>736868418for me personality, i'm a bit over diorama city builders. i want a game
a lot of buzz words, 0 gameplay to back it off
>>736869302Citystate dev tried making that but vast majority wanted a pretty sandbox city builder like CS2. So he made Citystate Metropolis which has less simulation but more city building focus.>It is possible that politics and economics are simply not compatible with classic city building mechanics. Unique management features and deep simulation systems are not the 'revolutionary' approach most players expect or even look for. The vast majority of city building enthusiasts clearly prefer to design, build and customize their city directly rather than tweaking values in a spreadsheet. As far as I can tell and after 6 years in the industry developing city builders, I am now increasingly convinced that the sandbox, player-centered approach prevails over the realistic, old-fashion tycoon experience. Examples that reinforce this hypothesis are everywhere, this is just how games have evolved over the past 20 years: Rollercoaster II (tycoon-like, 2002) VS Planet Coaster (sandbox-like, 2015); Railroad Tycoon III (tycoon-like, 2003) VS Railway Empire (tycoon-like too but a fraction of the sales!, 2018); SimCity 4 (tycoon-like, 2003) VS Cities Skylines (sandbox-like, 2015).
>>736868418>graphics graphics graphics cool, now where's the gameplay? or is it just going to be plopping marketplace asset bundles around on a map and then watching the sun go up and down? this is what i can't stand about ue5slop games, all flash little substance, and what little substance there is is rollslop
>>736869615New Ace Combat, Tekken, Guilty Gear and Ride games are all UE5. How is engine to be blamed for devs' lack of imagination?
>>736869739NTA but Fromsoft, Bamco, and Arcsys are known developers with a good track record. OP game is a brand new studio who has produced nothing but a 1 minute 40 second video of sweeping shots overlaid with some bullet points. It looks like what you'd show when pitching a game. It's the "reveal trailer" so that's fine and all, but you're asking people to have faith in a UE5 developer at the very first pitch... UE5 makes that harder because its visual programming functions make it very accessible, which means a lot of low-skill devs use it to make shovelware. Despite also being used for good games, it has a reputation. That doesn't mean all UE5 games are bad, but when a UE5 game is>no-name brand new developer>ambitious>sold as "the [other game] killer"yeah everyone's gonna take it with a grain of salt. It's like if an indie game put the RPG Maker logo all over its trailer, plenty of people are going to ignore it
UHH BUMP??
this is a different game btwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gf5yAfi96HM
at least there is competition in the city building simulators.
>>736868519>UE>everything is modelled in full detailGonna run like horseshit when zoomed out
>no mention of any crime systemWhy do the modern city builders always pussy out in this topic?
>>736874839Citystate 2 didn't pussy out on immigration, crime and homelessness.
In terms of normal city builds I want non grid ones with traditional and vernacular architecture less of that modern/contemporary glass and concrete buildings and gridsIn terms of non "comfy" ones I want more Frostpunk 1 but not copying the frost
>>736868653ThisLet's see a real gameplay video
>>736868418>UE5So it runs like shit with 100 pop
>>736868418Gee whizz I sure can't wait for another "totally not like the other city builder with fake simulation" game with fake simulation and dogshit performance.
>>736869497them I'm not buying the game. I want in depth systems and I want them all
>city masterplanSounds like some ESL translation of the actual title. If they can't even make a decent name then that tells you all you need to know about the game.
>>736868418>unrealI can't wait for 20 fps @ 4k on a 4090
>>736875357You will receive generic modern day assets from a store in a purposefully rootless locale with non-descript humanoids of mixed ethnicity, and you will be happy
>>736868519>>736873997It probably ran like horseshit zoomed in too. I wouldn't be surprised if the footage is sped up to hide the frame drops.
>>736868418I hope they add basic features as a series of $20 DLCs like my favorite publisher!
>>736868418I was fooled by NewCity so I won't bite.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyzXB4QASbU
>>736876478Lol, me too, because I wanted something regional. This game is totally dead. There's just one guy "working" on it, and in recent years all he's done is post some incomprehensible stuff on Twitter that has nothing to do with the game because he's literally gone insane.
