I might be the only one around, but I did stop at many occasions in my RE4R's many playthroughs just to look again and again at the buildings, the scenery, etc. Everything just flows so well together. The game is incredibly coherent and feels natural to progress through, with some obtuse exceptions like the very first sequence in that house lol (but at least it felt more interesting and intriguing than the OG sequence, like oh god it SUCKED) Also about the myth of "Remake sucks at replicating the OG feeling". The OG game had Marvel levels of dialogue (comically awful lines of dialogue), sluggish controls, and a clunky combat system just like its predecessors. Sure, it was way ahead of its time. Hell, Dead Space itself had to be delayed following RE4's release and the devs decided to scrap 90% of the game's systems to follow Capcom's decisions (that's pretty badass). But straight up claiming the remake is a failure or a cash-grab? That's it's soul-less? Hell no, that's a stupid and empty claim. If anything, RE4R brings the OG back on the pedestal. If you love RE games from the remakes, you'll eventually try out the older ones and appreciate them for the legacy they built. It's like looking at a late gothic cathedral and saying "yep, those suck, Roman cathedrals were much better before and had a better artistic direction clearly!". If you want to bash a cash-grab, go hunt RE3R. This one FAILED at artistically depicting the OG game: no exploration, no challenging combats, clocktower section GONE...
