I dunno what it used to bring but after playing XV and giving it a chance and having a lot of fun with it, I'm a lot more open to Squeenix FF.It's just spectacle. Stop complaining about things changing. FF has always been changing.

Half the reason FF is dying among the youth is that literally in their lifetime only 3 mainline games have released, and a remake/sequel NOBODY wanted wearing the skinsuit of something EVERYBODY wanted.PS6 really needs FF17-20 all in one generation. Imagine a new FF every 18 months.

>>736881958Did it really though? 7 was stupidly hyped. 8 was never on the same level of hyped because of course nothing could match 7's hype. 9 was the last game of that gen and people were already used to the FF formula. X might have have had hyped due to next gen graphics, but most people remember it for Tidus being too uncool and unlikable, not like Cloud. XI was an MMO. 12 was the same as 9, end of the gen, no hype. 13 had next gen hype, but people complained how linear it was. 14 was another MMO. 15 was hyped because of how long the development was and the whole Versus XIII thing, but it didn't leave much of a legacy. XVI just kinda came and went.Even the earlier games people remember fondly like 8 and 9, they never had the same hype 7 had. It was a novelty at first. First 3D Final Fantasy. This big Japanese franchise finally properly making its way to America. But once that novelty wore off, the rest of the franchise was just kinda meh.
