Do you judge video games based on their difficulty?
>>736884848No I only judge browns by the content of their character (subhuman)
video games will never be art
>>736884848Yes, it's a factor I consider
>>736884848Games can be easy, or hard. There's even idle games and unbeatable ones. There's games that are deliberately unfair, it's a whole genre. Frustration games. Why does this enrage and confuse you?
>>736884848Every game has a degree of challenge. If it didn't, they'd literally be movies.Shoot this enemy in the head, solve this puzzle, what dialogue option gets you your intended result?Games are interactive media, the level of challenge is subjective, but there is challenge. You have to find the right level for you.I'll gladly play the old Halo campaigns on Legendary when anyone asks, but goddamn do I want to play sweat ass extraction games? Fuck no. That's not what I enjoy. Find games that you like, there's like 10,000 of these fuckin' things.
>>736884848That dude needs to take the cock out of his mouth before typing.
I judge games based on their fanbase.
>>736884848yesgames that are too easy or too hard are both not enjoyable to play.
>>736884848Just call yourself what you are: A casual. You enjoy bright lights and applause when you push a button without having to work for it, and that's fine as long as you realize it makes you a casual.Artfags are almost on the same level though. ICO and SotC are the only two games I'd ever consider art, most everything else is bullshit.
waiting for the day twitter screencaps are a bannable offense
>>736884848It's one of the factors, and probably the highest one for me. But a bad game can be hard and a good game can be easy. But having a good difficulty curve that presents a high challenge is already a big plus in my book.
>>736886682Waiting for the day /v/ gets mods, or at least ones that play video games?See you in 2500
>>736886682This. Same with bluesky screenshot threads
I definitely play to relax so most of what I play reflects that. Survival games that let you tweak settings like Palworld to erase failure states as I just like building stuff peacefully. I dabble in arpgs PoE/D4 which are easy to cruise through. Planet Crafter was great but I don’t have my Deck anymore so Satisfactory on my pro quills that void well, giving Arknights Endfield a spin thanks to the base building but it’s got so many menus and systems it’s rather confusing at times.
>>736884848There is already a thread for this exact exchange on the catalog.
>>736884848Why not both?

>>736884848Games have more variety, they can be made for different purposes. One game can be art and the other not. Multiplayer games are more like lawn bowling or snooker, they're activities, pastimes, but you obviously wouldn't call lawn bowling art. The materials used to make the lawn bowling may or may not have a fine enough degree of craftsmanship to provide artistic enjoyment. Then there are games that focus on storytelling, visual artistry and so on, games which have many artistic elements involved in their conception and design. Video games give you the full spectrum.
>>736884848>I like to laugh while watching film not be sad>Film is not a tool to laugh, they are not a service for that>They are artistic works which main purpose is to invoke emotion in you, in the case of drama, sadness and thought stimilation>If you want to laugh go to a comedy clubDo you see how retarded these people are yet?
