This seems to be the only way to do a Jurassic Park game that fits the actual theme of the franchise, even though a park sim seems to be the most sensible design for a game (being able to say "I can do it right" only to be proven wrong when everything goes haywire as it always does).

>that fits the actual theme of the franchise

Which is man's hubris spitting in the face of God, the incredible dangers of science and genetics, and nature breaking free of any and all shackles man tries to lock it in. Not running around in terror trying not to be eaten by movie monsters.

No, this is the only way to make a game that fits the actual theme of the franchise

You're all wrong, what you need to do is HARNESS THE POWER!

Which is why I think the park sim angle is the one that is the way to capitalize on the theme the best, even though no one seems to be able to (getting players to think they can tame the nature of Jurassic Park and make it a success but having to endure all the ways that gets stretched and tested by trying to control such things)

I should have added: but the descent into chaos and survival that made the franchise famous can't really be conveyed from the control tower that being in a park sim casts the player as. That's something that only comes with being a lone survivor on the ground trying to avoid coming into contact with creatures they would stand no chance against (or at least to convince the player that is the case).

Trespasser sucks, but it's the only Jurassic Park game I've ever had interest in.

I want a remake of Warpath that updates all the canon dinosaurs in the game to their canon designs, adds all the new dinosaurs from III onward along with new non-canon dinosaurs, more stages, revamped and improved controls and movesets, and a better OST.

Is this game still being developed?
>>
Just let me play as a Dinosaur and that's all I need, make it like the Pete Jackson King Kong Game really where you have survival gameplay and then you get to be a big prehistoric animal just steamrolling fuckers.

OK OK I hear you... but a light gun rail shooter where you blast your way out of Isla Sorna, killing things like Deinosuchus, Carnotaurus, double T-Rexes is still a 10/10 experience

Jurassic Park Trespasser was too ahead of its time and in a perfect would deserves a redo. That said modern game devs and the mechanics are well thought out by now.
A VR game of it would honestly be fun.

All that said, Jurassic Park benefits from it being a jungle or reclaimed world. The lost world/JP3 as much as tards hate it has the best aesthetics and room to make good story lines for video games and should be explored further.

I think the problem is Universal wants JP:world shit pushed so hard and the modern aesthetic is gay af.

I really liked that jurassic park game on the xbox

but retards misunderstood my interest. I liked it because it was a sort of ecology simulator, and I got to learn a bit about dinosaurs and imagine them in their habitats

I did not play the game because I'm obsessed with running a theme park. That can be kind of interesting I guess, but it's really not the focus.

And it seems like every attempt at remaking that game failed to understand that I don't fucking care about building rides for people or whatever bulslhit. That's just extra on top of the main focus: The dinosaurs and their behaviours and ecology.

Subnautica was another game that was going down the correct path of ecology simulator but then in the sequel they fucked up EVERYTHING because they misunderstood my interest in the world and its ecology for wanting a fucking woke shit movie game

Well no shit Operation Genesis and Subnautica didn't make you happy, they were never conceptualized as Endless Ocean, they were conceptualized as a park manager and a survival crafter. No idea why you looked at them and thought you'd be watching a nature documentary.

That arcade intro with the T Rex and the storm used to scare the shit out of me as a child for some reason.

Later on as I got older and stopped caring I'd go out of my way to get enough coins so I could use both guns at the same time. Gunning down dinos was just satisfying.

I miss arcades.

The theme is probably muddied when 30 movies and shit get thrown in. The original novel wanted to make it clear that research should be useful because people want to know things, not because it's part of making an expensive product to sell.
>>

The original novel was Crichton ranting about how scientists are horrible people who will destroy the planet with their rampant science.

Scientists who put profit first. It goes out of its way to glorify men like Alan Grant for putting research first.

Why lie about the themes of a novel thats older than you are? A novel that children read in school no less.
