>pick up important-looking object in horror game>game autosaves

reminds me of Yahtzee's review of Amnesia, when he said that the monsters appeared to be waiting around for the game's checkpoint/autosave system to tell them to scare you
>>736898221>Walk into room>"Press Shift to Run"
>>736898221I've always wanted to make a horror game with a scary long hallway with the messages that pop up as you travel down saying things like "press shift to run" and "some enemies may be too strong to fight early on" after you get your first gun, but nothing spawns or happens it's just a hallway.
You wanna race me in snuff?Hook those up.
>>736898221If I were ever a hackerman who made computer viruses, my virus wouldn't do anything. You'd still be able to use your computer just fine, no bitcoin minters, nothing. But every time you started your computer, a random internal counter would begin, and at random intervals a horrible screamer would pop up and it'd rotate through gore and it would turn the master volume all the way to max so that you couldn't avoid it, and this would just happen in intervals anywhere from 1 minute to 24 hours.
it felt like this shit happened all the time in Alien Isolation too.>unlock a door you needed to progress in the level.>ayylmao pops out of an air vent 10 feet awayyeah his hunting patterns are "totally random" you guys

>>736898221this scene used to give me fucking nightmares. I'd be in the shower and start crying if I thought about it lol.
>read some notes left by someone>enemies spawn
>>736901575Hey, it could always be worse. Reading those could've locked you into a bad end or some shit.
>>736898283Yahtzee's a pretty shit-tier gamer. For having been in the industry as long as he has and having played as many video games as he has he's surprisingly unknowledgeable about basic design and mechanics.
