What other castlevania games should I play after Symphony? I liked SotN a lot, but not the stupid upside down castle bullshit, also it was really easy

Try Aria of Sorrow. It's kinda short, but very good nevertheless. Then you can go for the DSvanias and maybe even Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, which is like the love child of SotN and Aria with a bit of Order of Ecclesia.
Igavanias in general don't shine too much in the difficulty department, with SotN and Harmony of Dissonance being the easiest ones by far. The pre-SotN Castlevanias are the challenging ones, although they play very differently from SotN. Try out Rondo of Blood if you want, since it's set right before SotN and you play as Richter

Aria of Sorrow. Its also really easy but really fucking good.

Then you should play Classicvanias. The holy trinity are Castlevania IV - Rondo - Bloodlines. Play the NES games too if you’re a hardcore nigga who likes pain.

We all agree Wandering Ghosts is the best song right?

Beggars can't be choosers.

Congratulations, you have good taste and are not a nostalgia high subhuman retard who should be tortured to death.

SotN is a 3/10 at best and absolute garbage and extremely overrated, compared to the superior later Castlevania games.

>What other castlevania games should I play after Symphony?
Aria of Sorrow is a 7/10 which should be played once (normal+hard mode) so you know what the story is before playing its superior sequel.

The Dominus Collection (Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia) are all 10/10 and the best Castlevania games ever made, these are the only ones which you should play and replay.

Ignore everything else.

So go emulate Aria of Sorrow, avoid the Steam version which is inferior emulation. Then buy the Dominus Collection on Steam which is absolutely amazing and the best versions of these games.

>and maybe even Bloodstained Ritual of the Night
Ignore this retard. Stay far away from Shitstained, it is an abomination and looks vomit inducing.

All of them, nigga. The metroidvanias are all good and some are better than Symphony. My favorites are Aria of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin. You can't go wrong.

Also, I didn't like Order of Ecclesia very much but I acknowledge it does its own thing and it tries to be more difficult than the others. The only issue is that OoE's level design is pure trash - if you thought the inverted castle was bad then you haven't seen nothing yet.
>>
>>736902502
Lmao kill yourself. Aria is infinitely replayable. Dawn is a far inferior bloated sequel with literal crafting slop. Fuck outta here.

The series is consistently good enough that any entry that stands out to you will likely end up enjoyable. If you want recommendations, though, I say go with Rondo or Circle of the Moon. Aria is good, but it's similar enough to SotN that I wouldn't want to play them back-to-back.

>>736902529
Bloodstained is great, and anyone that likes SotN will probably enjoy it.
>>
Rondo of blood and Castlevania IV. Circle of the moon was alright too.
>>
>>736902173
Super Castlevania IV is mid as hell, I wouldn't even rank it in the top half of classicvanias. The GOAT classicvania is Castlevania III; even Koji Igarashi agrees with this.

Castlevania 1, Rondo, Bloodlines, X68k, Belmont's Revenge and ReBirth are all better than Super IV in my opinion. IV has amazing atmosphere and an amazing Dracula fight but that doesn't redeem the entire rest of the game.

I like Aria, that is why I rate it 7/10, but it is inferior to Dawn, you can cope all you want, but Dawn is superior in everyway except the "muh kojima gothic artstyle" argument.

I am glad that Aria of Sorrow was the basis on which the later superior Castlevania games were build, and not that dogshit Symphony of the Night.

>>736902552
I am 100% serious.

>>736902730
I hate SotN, it is boring, empty, easy, overrated garbage, terrible Castle/map design. The only thing it has going for it is production quality because it had the biggest budget and development time of the 2D Castlevania games.

Shitstained is an abomination, I hate it because Miriam is ugly and the artstyle is dogshit and vomit inducing.
>>
>really easy
It's only easy if you make it so. Nothing's stopping you from beating the game at low level with the starting equipment.
>>
>>736905219
What is this retarded zoomer meme of "le make your own difficulty"? Is this what soulsslop does to a community?
>>
>>736902529
I love the artstyle of bloodstained

OoE is the only challenging Igavania

Putting aside that people obviously aren't going to be formulating challenge runs on their first playthrough, it's really unsatisfying if the only way to increase a game's difficulty is to strip out tons of content.
