Closest thing we've seen to what Payne was in the video game form was the John Wick movies in the film form in some regard. And thats getting a video game soon. Not even John Woo's Stranglehold could do it but maybe a Keanu Reeves game could.

I would only accept it if they took the assets from the original and kept everything the way it is and only improved the gameplay and graphics(while preserving the artistic vision). Otherwise no thanks we don't need more modern gaming slop.

I actually liked MP3's gameplay when the game didn't force you to stop every five minutes to watch boring cutscenes. Aside from the shoot dodging being super overpowered and some of the levels feeling scripted, I think the actual shooting itself is fun.

I like mp3 but the overpowered float in the air shoot dodge combined with the pinpoint hitscan accuracy were thins that messed up the formula in hindsight, not as bad as mp2's ludicrously overpowered bullet time but in the ballpark. max payne 1 took its chow yun fat bullet spray to the extreme but I think you need to do something to prevent the game from turning into a literal headclicker. shooting guys in bullet time still needs to be challenging.

eh, some changes to bullet time but I remember just playing through it once and not really enjoying the levels/story or atmosphere even though it looked similar to 1. Guess you could say it improved gameplay wise

the only really obvious issue is bullet time being borked, you move way too fast and can just close range obliterate enemies in a way that feels dumb.
