They would probably be a subspecies, like homo sapiens somethingus instead of homo sapiens sapiens. It's possible that the gith have 23 pairs of chromosomes as well, but that there is some other prezygotic factor preventing fertilization, like how they lay giant fucking external eggs like reptiles.
