They won when AMD decided that RT and DLSS were just memes that nobody would care about after a year like physX.
They then won even harder when AMD decided to not have dedicated hardware for that for another 2 gens after they realized they were wrong.

Do you own 4090 or 5090? Since they're the only GPUs somewhat capable of running path tracing at 1080p ~60 fps without frame gen and without sub-1080p upscaling.

There is a difference with PT and there's no reason a 9070 XT can't run it. It will probably be patched in later once they implement AMD's Ray Regeneration. Probably already can force it with REFramework but I bet it looks like ass without RR which is why its disabled.

>>
And what would have won? The 9070xt offers the same performance at $300-$400 less than the 5070ti. Path tracing isn't usable on solutions lower than the 5090, and always with DLSS enabled (resolutions lower than native), so it's as if it didn't exist. Let's leave aside the fact that it's full of RTX mirror spam, as explained in the conclusions. So, again, what would have won? In the gullible marketing department, for sure.
>>
>>736924253
Quality drivers from a 5 trillion dollar company

>A striking anomaly shows up here: the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB is dramatically slower than the 8 GB model at every resolution—53 vs. 71 FPS at 1080p (-25%), 35 vs. 48 FPS at 1440p (-27%), and 18 vs. 25 FPS at 4K (-28%). This pattern of 16 GB models underperforming their 8 GB counterparts also appears in the rasterization and ray tracing benchmarks, though the gap is much smaller there (3–10%).

>The cause is unclear—it could be a driver issue, a game bug related to VRAM allocation behavior, or an interaction between path tracing and the larger memory configuration.

Okay since all 10 retards who still care about graphics are here: Why do modern games force me to use that AI anti-aliasing? I played FF16 this year and it was impossible to get rid of the ghosting and blurriness. Why not just give me the option to turn on some of the AA techniques we've had for 20 years?
>>
>>736923624
Yeah, it sucks that AMD has not been able to hold their cards to MSRP, but lets not pretend that Nvidia has been any better pricing wise. At my local Microcenter the cheapest 9070xt is $690, while the cheapest 5070 ti is $970 right now. Newegg is showing a similar price difference - $710 for the 9070xt vs $1000 for the cheapest 5070 ti. Being more than $250 cheaper is reasonable for the performance and feature difference.
>>
>>736924592
you don't have to use "AI" anti-aliasing
you can use the basic bitch TAA or disable it entirely
if you want worthless slop that doesn't do anything in modern games like FXAA/SMAA then use reshade

>>
>>736924604
I don't know what its like now but back during launch it was far easier for me to get a 5070 Ti at MSRP than a 9070 XT for less than $700. I had alerts set up on Discord and with stock apps and literally nothing would show up for AMD until like 5 months later and by then I had already bought and sold my 5070 Ti and bought a 5090.

There was a pretty good period last fall when you could get 9070XTs for MSRP. I grabbed my Hellhound for ~$630 before tax after hearing there were going to be price hikes during the winter and start of 2026. Launch was a shitshow though with GayMD doing the Njudea standard trick of undersupplying every retailer and merchant, and stretching my memory further, there was also some trickery in regards to subsidizing the merchants at the $600 pricepoint for a limited time using a set amount of waivers.

Personal asspull explanation
More vram modules next to each other equals more heat so something underclocks in the gpu maybe the vram memory clock or the core clocks due to higher heat.
