I know one of you uncs tried this
>>
to this day people dont know how they got action replay to work on gamecube
>>
No, I live in pc country, only rich cunts had consoles, so i assume they just had game cds
>>
Im not a nigger so i was able to understand that certain software only works on the hardware it was made for.
>>
>>736926568
Nah but I once used nail polish remover to clean a a Wii game that my cousin said had stopped working and when the polish obviously ruined the disc permanently and I learned that you can only use that on cartridges, my cousin was pissed at me basically forever and I never went back to see him again after that

ps1 discs could work in pc sometimes and let you play mp3 songs from them
>>
>>736927042
Some of them expected you to do that too! Symphony of the Night with Alucard's "this is a PlayStation black disk" monologue

Most physical media worked on several different devices before the 6th generation of consoles.

Not to be mean or nothing.
>>
>>736927190
did it work?
>>
>>736927279
rdr is 20 years old
>>
>>736927219
To easily tell the difference between original and copy because there were lots of bootlegs.

>>736927276
It didn't stop copying on real PCs.

>>736927202
GameShark, Action Replay, Codebreaker all just work without a modchip you insert the disc and the console loads it.

Closest experience I had to this, was a moment of confusion when trying to figure out how the psp UMD worked.
>>
>>736926568
I did this all the time to save space on my collection

>>
>>736926568
I actually did this when I was younger. I took like 40 PS2 games and tried to get them to run on my gc. The middle circle didn't even fit. My dad found out and beat my ass.

I once cut off the end of an RCA cable and threaded them onto an DB9 in an effort to play Ground Control 2 on a big tv screen
It did not work
my dad hit me when I got home
>>
>>736927390
Because what if you ever wanted to play the game on another console again?
>>
>>736926568
C'mon man even I knew scratched disc = unplayable as a young child and put two and two together. Though I think I might've joked about it.
>>
>>736927472
How the fuck do you do it 40 times before figuring out that it doesn't work
>>
>>736927010
But this works, though. The “moisture from your breath causes corrosion!” is nonsense unless you live without air conditioning and the cartridge stays in a humid environment. The immediate need of removing dust so the game works far outweighs the possibility of a problem later. Especially when you are 10 years old.
>>
>>736927472
>40
nigger why you keep going after the first couple didn't work
>>
>>736927624
My grandfather used to blow a big raspberry into cartridges both to amuse the kids and because he was too lazy to go grab rubbing alcohol, went at the metal with a towel for scrubbing/drying after, game worked like a charm every time
>>
>>736927623
I did them all in one go before testing one. I don't know why I didn't test the first one. I even broke out my mom's scrap book cutter to make perfect circles after I measured a gc disk. I was like 10 or something.
>>
>>736927010
i still blow into my left click every now and then to get rid of the double click
fucking bizarre shit
>>
>>736927313
This anon is correct, I would play ps1 discs on my sega CD all the time
>>
>>736927596
but they did work on my consoles
what are you talking about

>>736926568
why would you even attempt to play a 360 game on a gamecube?
>>
You can at least remove animal crossing from the GameCube and it will keep playing until you turn off the system.

Same thing with the chao garden in Sonic Adventure until you left the area.

Hey man kids are dumb. Did anyone else know anyone who got tricked by iFunny to destroy their iPhone by putting it in the microwave.
>>
One time I cut the n64 controller cable with scissors while playing ocarina of time because I thought the controller would turn wireless. It straight up killed the n64 wouldn't turn on again.
>>
>>736928156
Cutting the controller wire fried the console? Huh?

>>
>>736928431
Yes

>>736928484
Exactly what happened
>>
>>736928017
>Remove the disc and the game will keep playing
They used to do this with StarCraft at a local youth center, to get it playing on multiple pcs.
jank-kino
>Had to sign out a game for 30 minutes, and write down timeslots in a book to prevent someone from hogging a console/pc/game for too long.
>>
>>736928431
The old console manuals would warn you specifically not to unplug controllers unless the console was off.
>>
>>736928431
>cut wire
>short all the wires in controller together
>fucks something up inside the console because consumer electronics back then were garbage
>>
>>736928751
>>736928431
The memory pack plugged into the controller and it needs some power.

Ok some kids are I don't know what to tell you. You never did anything dumb as a kid? Anything at all?
>>
>>736928431
you basically made a homemade taser out of your controller port, genius

you cut it while it was on, the bare wires probably touched and shorted the 3.3v line straight to ground. old nintendo hardware did NOT like that shit. no protection, no fuse, just vibes.

congrats you discovered electrical engineering the hard way at age 8.
