>raise price of game pass
>nobody buys it anymore
>OH NOOOOOO HOW COULD THIS HE HAPPENING TO US?!
>>
>>736932880
Companies really got to stop letting anyone invest in their shit. Gamepass being cheap was the only advantage XBox offered and instead of just being happy they were making a profit the investor just asked for more return.
>>
>raise price
>segregate the offerings further
No fucking shit people aren't paying for Ultimate.
>>
>>736932880
these suits forget xbox fans are more on the normie spectrum and they can just go outside and play sports
>>
>>736932880
they cucked premium too hard
ultimate is fine as the 'lots of value for retarded money' option but if they expect most people to go ultimate for $30 a month they're retarded
>>
>>736932880
I wouldn't play a single game on that game pass even if I got it for free. Because in a year the service will be shut down anyway.
>>
>>736932880
it's never been viable to begin with
>>
>let's keep offering our flasgship games at a fraction of thier price so people can subscribe to our service for 1 or 2 months, play them, and then cancel
>>
they literally upped the price to $30 months ago, if they're already seeing that much dropoff because of their retardation and adding Fortnite Crew without any choice in the matter to the mix, then what the fuck were they expecting, magic growth? these fuckin bean counters live in a separate reality of speculative imaginary infinite growth with literally nothing but their own internal polls to speculate from about how it works.
>>
>>736932880
It's a flawed model.
I've used that $1 deal like four times now. Each time I'd pick a game and beat it before cancelling the subscription. Eventually it just reset and the deal came back.

a lot of normalfags subscribe for things and never unsub
it's the freest money ever if you can get them to sub even for $1 because for every 1 person who unsubs or tries to game the system there's dozens of people who don't stop subbing
>>
>internal memo
>gets "leaked"
>Every time
I'm so tired of this constant dishonesty, just make a public statement
>>
>>736934315
This. Dead patreons sometimes still get hundreds of dollars per month.
>>
>>736932880
Why dont they just lower it back down

Every single time this kind of shit happens I have to wonder if the suit who suggested the price hike committed suicide or if he keeps pretending it was his evil twin who suggested it every time someone brings it up on reunions.

Realistically since Day 1 is out already, it probably transitions into a super delayed thing like PS+ with random games being added

Literally the Games for Gold stuff they were doing before.

Videogame Suits in general tend to forget their products are just commodities and if the price increases past a tolerance point people will just drop them entirely. The popularity of videogames rests strongly on perceived value for cost. Ironically, GAAS, for as strong as a profit driver they are undercuts this perceived value by degrees.

None of them understand or care about the husbandry or maintenance of systems. An engine needs it's oil changed, it needs sediments flushed, it needs routine maintenance. Instead they just push and push and push because we made it legal for companies to buy back their own stock and manipulate the market.

Are we forgetting this lady is the NEW head of Xbawx and she was promoted to pass over an existing heir apparent who 'retired' shortly after?

That suit is fucking dead, anon. They've gone to the consultancy firm up state with all the former congressmen and spokespeople.
>>
>>736934315
I saw an ad a while back for a subscription service that manages all of your subscription services. It's absolutely wild.
>>
>GoyPass

only dumb americans use this shit i swear i dont know anyone who even knows what this is
>>
>>736936157
>>736934315
Rocketmoney? They get shilled a lot. There's actually a couple.

>Rocket Money
>Trim
>Monarch Money
>Bobby
>TrackMySubs

it's pretty fucking hilarious. Closest I ever came to this was I paid for a month of Audible I didn't want to, once, cause I forgot to pause the sub.
>>
>>736936157
Are normies that bad at using spreadsheet software to list their recurring expenditures?
>>
honestly, I just want GOLD for online multiplayer on stuff I already own, but no they removed that option and a stand alone
and they just caused everyone to go for f2p stuff instead of their stuff with this
>>
>pc gamepass was 8.99€ when i checked it out maybe a year ago
>its now 15€

lol, i thought that maybe i will take it for the new Forza but fuck no, im not renting a game for 15€
>>
It was a retarded strategy to begin with

>Ok we're gonna run this subscription service at a loss to get people onboard... then once we have a userbase we're going to hike the prices so we can make a profit!
>everyone just leaves

Turns out that when your service is built around the idea of renting everything with zero ownership, customers have no stake in staying on your platform when it comes time to start milking them
>>
Consumers are getting more savvy/less retarded about subscription services, and are starting to unsubscribe from the ones they're not using.
>>
>>736937842
younger gens also want to own things, Vynils are becoming mainstream again because of this, so we might see a retro renaissance in media, hopefully,
>>
Little brings me more joy than watching subscription models crash and burn. Shit's just Xbox Live 2.0.

Meanwhile, companies and their revolving door of CEOs are getting more blatant about their rug pulls.

Routinely increasing prices twice a year. Removing content people all ready paid to 'own' on their services. Getting rid of backup options, and shoving more ads everywhere.

All these companies are essentially sabotaging their brands for a quick buck. With the higher ups hoping they get theirs before they pass all the problems down to the next guy.
>>
>>736938463
not even that, xbox live was just sub for gold and was cheap as fuck, then gamepass happenes, and it was just either the usual GOLD or Gamepass which later included gold as a bonus

Then it ended up in this retarded system
It was actually great at the start to pay to rent some games to see if you woudl buy them or not, kind of like Blockbuster back in the day, but now its not even worth it, might as well buy whatever game in a sale, and less and less games and being made to maintain in on new stuff
>>
>>736937235
For Forza Horizon 6 you need the ultimate Pass anyway. Not the $15 one.
>>
>>736938885
there is no ultimate pass for PC, that shit is for consoles only
>>
>>736938924
You're right. I was on the official Xbox site but didn't see that only PC game pass option. Kinda hidden.
15 bucks is actually not that bad... but fuck I don't want to use their gay launcher, I want it on Steam!
>>
>>736932880
>short term
It's too expensive long term as well
These people need to be taken away from society
>>
>>736936035
It's all because someone rebranded engaging with medias as "consuming" it
Which has the implication that its importance is somehow at the same level as food or toilet articles
>>
>>736935878
Sony has deleted shit people paid for with the only reason given "sorry, we don't feel like renewing the license, so now you can't access this anymore" and nobody really cared
They are beyond buck broken
>>
>>736938614
That's what you get when you allow wall street to arbitrarily exchange ownership of companies between shareholders
They never care about anything but returns and they have no reason to. What your company does is secondary to how much money it can produce for them.
>>
>>736932880
>Buy Activision and Bethesda to get an advantage on Sony
>Still have to release their games on PlayStation
>Now you’re $80 billion in debt
>Raise the price on everything to pay down that debt
How did they not see this coming? I thought these people had fancy MBA degrees. Even people who never went to business school could have seen this coming.
>>
>>736932880
That was one of the more bizarre business decisions I’ve seen. Gamepass was good for a while, but then the releases dried up. Nothing significant besides OW2 was on the way for the foreseeable future, with no events planned either. They chose the weakest moment, when subscribers were already thinking about canceling, to increase the price by 50%.
>>
>>736936786
fucking this
i dont want indieshitpass
just let me play what i already paid for you fucking pieces of shit
fuck microsoft and fuck xbox
>>
You can get it for 20$ still at food lion
>>
>>736939687
Buying Bethesda for Starfield must have been the biggest scam in the game industry in recent history

I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't started licensing out TES and Fallout to other studios yet to recoup some of their losses.
That way, we might actually get a good game for once, too
>>
>>736940030
>fallout or tes
>Ever good
lol
tes stopped being good with Morrowind
Fallout was always just a shitty version of something else (wasteland then itself when it went fps)
>>
>>736932880
>force the head of xbox to raise prices
>profits go down
>fire head of xbox and replace him with someone that tells you to stop raising prices
real genius leadership at microsoft.
>>
>>736940030
Make a cozy game set in Tamriel where you decorate houses for different TES races. Those games always print money.
>>
>>736940095
The games before Morrowind were also pure slop only impressive from a technical standpoint for thereto unwitnessed automatic slop production
Morrowind was really the only outlier
>>
>>736939687
>>Now you’re $80 billion in debt
Microsoft has infinite money.
>>
>>736932880
I'm not really a customer because I've only gotten 1 month for $1 and unsubbed before I was charged a higher price. Game Pass is just not appealing. Usually, I'd rather pay more to own a game forever rather than only play it on a subscription model. This probably isn't fixable, but it would help to have like a Steam Game Pass run through Microsoft so people can continue using the same shit they use already.
>>
>>736932880
when are they making multiplayer free
>>
>>736938134
>Vynils are becoming mainstream again because of this
People buy them for display, not listening to.
>>
>>736943860
Maybe with Helix, probably never.
