I hope the remake is good. Everytime I get the itch to play Oot, I remember literally everything and it bores me.
>>
>>736936478
What would a remake have to do for you to not find OOT boring?
>>
The only thing they need to do is give it modern engine textures. Everything else is fine. The game is just so dated visually that it actually degrades the experience. I'd take a visual update of MM too.
>>
>>736936478
You should try one of those fan games. I did Missing Link recently. It was fine.
>>
>>736936478
My problem is I have it all memorized and it’s just through the motions on replay.
>>
>>736936715
*going through the motions
Fuck
>>
>>736936582
I would like to see the entire structure of the game altered. Ideas like it beginning as adult Link and the child Link portions being the second half of the game when you go back in time, and or it being non-linear and allowing every dungeon order to be possible, lots of new story segments, new abilities, lots of mini dungeons scattered around grottos, that sort of thing.
>>
>>736936715
This is what kills replays for me as well. So much of the initial fun was exploring so all you are left with is the early Z targeting combat which kinda sux. Also the game doesn't really have that much side content worth doing since everything rewards heart pieces instead of a fun sidegrade item.
>>
>>736936715
>>736936894
Yeah, the true joy of Ocarina Of Time, as well as Majora's Mask and Mario 64, was the sense of exploration and discovery. These games are too famous and memorable for their own good.
>>
>>736937105
I hope they change everything
>>
>>736936478
Best I can do is an open world with crafting and collectables.
>>
>>736936612
Good news, they did that, it's available on 3DS. Have fun, anon.
>>
>>736937319
The 3ds version was a visual downgrade so bad that people on PC had to fix it. Also they cut content from the gamea, bricked MM, made them feel like shit with a bad unchangeable control scheme. Don't even joke, retard.
>>
>>736936478
Hyrule field will be filled with camps of Bokoblins like all other newer Zeldas. There's no way current year Nintendo can make a good remake let a lone a good remake of their magnus opus.
>>
>>736937319
bruh...the 3ds is still dated.
It basically looks the same. Probably worse if you stop to analyze it like other anons.

>>

MM3D looked even worse when they added those stupid eye textures on everything.
>>
>add more inside Hyrule Field, like maybe pulling some pieces of heart out of secret holes and placing them in new secrets or doing things for folks around Hyrule; don't have to necessarily make it bigger like Twilight Princess, but at least make it more than an empty space with nearly nothing of interest
>if they have to expand the field, allow Young Link to ride Young Epona like in Majora's Mask so we're not running/hopping the whole way, which adds even more priority to freeing her from Ingo in the Adult timeline
>modify the start of the Adult Link sequence so that the player can tackle the dungeons in any order if they know what they're doing, instead of the strict push towards the Forest Temple and then awkwardly opening up the further you go in
>probably add more to Market Town so it actually feels like a living kingdom hub instead of how awkward it is as a passthrough til you go completion hunting
>wind back on the camera stopping to show you literally every single individual thing you accomplish so the player isn't stopping and going all game long from beginning to end
>expand the enemy encounter design to learn from later game lessons, so Lizalfos, Wolfos, Stalfos and Knuckles are more dynamic if one goes the sword combat route, but intuit their item weaknesses a little better as well
>tune up, refresh and broaden the challenge on dungeon design to actually take all these years of Zelda games into mind instead of acting as the ultimate beginner friendly entry the original was; don't copy paste puzzle solutions 1:1, mix it up like the first Resident Evil remake so veterans can't go in cocksure thinking they'll do it all first try
I have like 5 ways to play OoT, so long as it isn't BotW shit again I don't mind them trying something new.

>>
>>736940570
It would be foolish to ignore the advances Botw made for this remake.
>>
>>736936715
You could try a randomizer, then your knowledge of the game would be useful while still forcing you to consider how to proceed
That or romhacks are the only way I play this game anymore
>>
>>736941161
Breath of the Wild is virtually an entirely different style of game and design that has very little in common with traditional past the surface tension. You near-always have the solution on-hand, you just need to improvise or intuit it on your own terms, versus the classic puzzle box that has its own keys to gradually unlock it from the inside out on its own terms. I didn't play enough of Tears to figure if the dungeons changed enough towards traditional to matter in that regard, but if I wanted Breath of the Wild 3 I'd go play a damn mod, not change a pre-existing game to be it.
That's not even touching the gross oversimplification of combat into quantity over quality.
>>
It's for children, it gives children a good feeling but really it's a shit game.
>>
>>736939605
Ocarina of Time fans hate all Zelda games anyway so nothing changes.
>Windwaker comes out, OoT fans hate it and call it the death of the series
>Twilight Princess comes out, OoT fans hate it and call it the death of the series
>Skyward Sword comes out, OoT fans hate it and call it the death of the series
>Breath of the Wild comes out, OoT fans hate it and call it the death of the series
>Tears of the Kingdom comes out, OoT fans hate it and call it the death of the series
>OoT fans won't even talk about the 2D games and ignores them entirely despite being largely superior to the 3D games
They can't be pleased. Nintendo spent 3 games trying to pander to them only to get nowhere so they just went full Zelda 1 with the series and found roaring success. OoT fans cannot be pleased and only love that one game, its not worth pandering to them.
>>
>>736941307
>complains there are solutions to all situations and a million choices
>Complains combat was oversimplified
OoTfags are completely insane man. Have you actually played OoT combat? It's completey dogshit nonsense with zero challenge and an infinite free shield against enemies who attack once every 20 seconds and do 1/2 a heart of damage a hit. The new games have multiple weapon types, multiple variations on weapon types with different effects and physics and a dozen non-combat ways to set the fights up.

that isn't quantity over quality. It has more quality and more quantity than Ocarina of Time combat.
>>
>>736936478
If the textures, lighting, and models are updated and higher quality with more detail, this will make the game less immersive for people like myself who are immersed through imagination instead of perception of detail and like older games partially for this reason. It would be boring for me. This will happen.
If the game comes with external material, like drawings and chapters of text explaining bits of the story it would become less boring . This won't happen.
I dont care about this remake, but cool for people that are immersed through different ways than I am.

I did the same with MM/WW/TP last and this month. OOT/MM was about 20 hours each, Wind Waker was 55 hours and TP was 45 hours (plus 5 for just casual fishing trying to pump up pond records).
Now I'm doing multi-world randomizers for fun.

playing some Zelda games I've never played like the Oracle Games. Just beat Seasons and I like the traditional zelda games. Puzzle dungeons, overworld with reasonable exploration, new items every dungeon. There's always something to look forward to. BotW was so boring because you got everything important immediately so it was extremely monotonous.

It'd be cool if there was an added postgame where you have to get permission to take Epona to find Zelda and let her know everything is okay now during which the kokiri sword gets severely damaged so as thanks the royal kingdom reforges the kokiri sword into its MM design and gives him the Hero's Shield.

Ah yes, advancements such as going minutes at a time walking only to briefly interact with a korok or bokoblin before walking minutes more and repeating said banal content, all for 20 to 60 hours. Such advancements truly need to be learned from. a tight 20 hour experience is yesterday's trash, we need dozens of hours of bloat and tedium!

So many things are different. Like the way Link does his attack combos is more like Wind Waker, but they simplified them because of the Wii waggle. At 2:10.

The spin move he does, is similar to Wind Waker how the 3rd/4th hit of an attack string had spins (depending on how you held the stick.

>>736949018
Funny seeing the trailer that it's mostly beginning stuff, up to the Forest Temple (and some of the King Bulbin horseback fight). Probably the earliest things they worked on.
And of course, the black/white Twilight Realm, before they delayed the game.

Nintendo cared enough to completely shake up the formula with SS. Zoomies are too young to understand that it was attempt one at reinventing the series. They just started by doubling down on the thing everyone liked, which was dungeons. When that bombed and Aonuma tried out Skyrim they pivoted to a complete open world and freedom. But it all started with TP dropping below a 9.0 with Western critics.
