I didn't have vidya then so I just pulled the covers up over my head and closed my eyes in bed.
When we did have vidya if they were fighting I'd go walk as far as I wanted down the road and then walk back when I got tired. One time I made it pretty far out of town before I walked back, when I was like 10-15. After that I had a car and I just tried not to be home as much as possible.

Now that I think about it if/when I ever have kids I'm going to make sure if my wife and I fight, we do it outside the home. Like, let's leave the house with a babysitter and go figure things out somewhere else so it doesn't impact the kids as much.

I almost killed my wife after I lost custody of my son so I can't really blame the issues my parents had with each other. Things are really hard when kids are Involved. You hate each other but you can't just leave because of the kids. You live together and logistics are bad and you love your kids so you want to stay and resentment to your partner just builds.

If you don't have kids and things escalate this much you just divorce and move cities after selling your house. When kids are involved people stay together way too much for their sake. I used to just play games on my PSP.

At first, it was over little things like him lying.
One time he went missing for a few days, only to show up again saying he had no memory of it at all.

It got really bad when they decided to open a car wash. Things turned from loud shouting to my mother doing things like walking into the pool fully clothed. She was afraid about me and my little sister being hurt by my dad or his actions causing other people to hurt is because of the life he lead.

Eventually, they got into a fight. She grabbed a knife, and I called the cops on him. He’s dead now, but honestly, I miss him sometimes.

But growing up, my boomer parents fought about every retarded thing and would sometimes bond in rare moments when they could ally briefly to argue with others in public.
