I stopped playing the Ace Attorney series at Turnabout Serenade a few years ago and I recently decided to restart Apollo Justice from the beginning. I forgot how annoying the cross-examination with Wesley Stickler was. Specifically the part where Apollo Justice keeps talking about how he can't find a single flaw in his testimony. I didn't realize that I was supposed to fail this part. After you press him on the last statement, the game asks you if you're ready to give up and I kept going back to try and present other pieces of evidence. I must have kept going for over an hour trying to figure out what to do next. I eventually gave up and Trucy pretended to get kidnapped before explaining how you're meant to look for the witness's 'tell' that they're lying. So Trucy guides you to pay attention to when Wesley is fiddling with his book, and you get him to admit that he lost his cell phone. I actually realized this animation was the hint earlier on, because the tutorial case (Turnabout Trump) mentioned that you should look for the witness's tell. But I couldn't do anything with this information until I gave up so Trucy can fake her kidnapping and Apollo starts paying attention to his bracelet. If this was meant to be a tutorial for that mechanic, then why mention it in the first case if I can't do anything with it until the real tutorial in the second case?

my highly unlikely and insane aa7 predictions:-turnabout zoo-there’s 6 cases in the main game not including dlc-japan is just japan bc there’s at least one case in murica (real). it was a hard decision for the localization team but it was impossible to get around. that said, the english names are staying.-one of the defendants is an egirl and gamer.-shu takumi is back but it’s also his last ace attorney game. he is done with this franchise.-kazuya nuri, takuro fuse, and tatsuro iwamoto all contribute to character designs.-it’s somehow a reboot but not a reboot at the same time-the investigation phases are more like the aai series. you can walk around in full 3D.-get ready for another time skip lads.-as with timeskips, there’s also flashback cases set shortly after soj.-apollo is in the game. he is traveling and gets a chad-tier glowup.-they finally address the apollo-trucy plothole. apollo gets super pissed at lamiroir and phoenix initially.-apollo plaps nahyuta-klavier returns as the prosecutor for 1 case.-phoenix finally takes a step down and isn’t playable. -jpop anime opening-iris/van zieks descendant is a main character. there’s a photo cameo of granny iris-athena isn’t the main main attorney but she’s in the expansion pass kek-substories for certain characters kinda like social links-winston payne’s daughter is the tutorial prosecutor-there’s one case with japanese-style idols-takeshi yamazaki and janet hsu are still in the credits since they contributed to the game ages ago. im completely talking out of my ass desu.i just got a strong hunch about these things :))
