ITT: Post something you could never discuss on /v/ without being flamed to death

>Put 800 hours into Assassins Creed Valhalla
>Genuinely got immersed and felt like I was living in the game
>My village, my people, my lands...
>Countless days spent wandering the wilderness in silence
>Started noticing tiny, tiny, tiny details in the world that made it feel even more real
>When it was all over I just felt empty inside, like I'd lost everything
>>
I actually like Black Ops 7's multiplayer. Just got to Prestige 90 and got the cool AK27.

Ocarina of Time is already fake zelda formula
The best games are the first 3, followed majoras, Oracle of Ages and Minish Cap, followed by Tp and Botw.

I dont get why Chrono Trigger gets so much praise when its not even the best SNES or Square jrpg of the era

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was one of my favorite games from last year and the completely optional gay romance didnt bother me at all.

Every mainline Resident Evil game is great.
Even the "bad" ones, like 6 and 0, even the "souless" remakes, even the first person ones, are all fun in their own way.

Resident Evil is my favorite vidya franchise and im glad im not a jaded contrarian who cant allow himself to enjoy anything popular.
>>
I unironically play Fallout 76

It's been a few years but I'll try my best to recall some examples.

>After a few in-game weeks a merchant moves into town
>A few weeks after that a piece of paper appears on her sales counter
>It's not glowing, it's not marked, it's just there and if you see it you walk up and interact with it
>It's a delivery itenary, a list of items, who they go to, where, and how much you're supposed to get paid
>Originally I didn't even see the note, I saw a bunch of new stock piled up at the back wall of the shop outside and thought "huh, that's new"
>So I wandered inside and did some shopping and spied the note
The tl;dr is it's an unmarked quest and you have to transport 3 items about 15-20 minutes away to diffrent parts of the map and you can't use your horse and you can't fight while carrying them BUT you can set them down and pick them up again and you can dump them onto a boat and carefully row the boat without putting the cargo in the river. You just do your deliveries, use your wits to find out where to go, and you get some pocket money for your troubles. It was just really immersive and something I didn't really expect to come across.

I enjoyed the Silent hill 2 remake and im looking forward to the next one.

Thanks Anon. I've been slowly playing through Origins and the thing I've liked the most is how fleshed out the world feels. I wonder if there's a list out there somewhere of all the little details the various AC games have?
>>
>>736948771
This is me with odyssey. On second play through... Almost 700 hours
>>
>>736948909
The game is full of landmarks and every quest they go out of their way to describe directions as if you're playing without a minimap, which you can do. So sometimes you'll have some guy saying "You go left by the hill with the stone bird" and you're like "I SAW the stone that looks like a bird, I know where you mean" and often you can stumble your way into clues and inadvertently end up playing BACKWARDS through a quest that you pick up and instantly know a bunch of information about it and what they want from you. Also the Assassin hideout entrances are hidden in plain sight in a way where you'll kick yourself when you finally figure it out, they put in a lot of effort into stuff like this that doesn't matter overall but some guy on the team of hundreds thought "SOMEONE will appreciate this".
>>
>>736949746
There's probably a few but the games are so massive you'd only see them all playing through yourself and keeping your eyes open. A lot of them are cool but not really worth writing down on a website somewhere, I need to go back to Origins actually, I never finished it. Mirage is good too and very short, and ties into Valhalla somewhat.
>>
>>736949121
It's very short and therefore has almost 0 fat on the bone, so people only remember the high points. It's also more likely for someone to beat it because it's short. Plus the music and artstyle and even certain parts of the combat are really strong. It's a meme but it's a JRPG for people who don't really like JRPG's.

Batman Arkham Knight is my favorite game of all time, and it's one of the few games where I got sad when I was getting close to the end. I also love the series' combat and stealth
Also I buy visual novels and RPG Maker games on Steam

Same, although I loved it rather than liked it

Excuuuuuuuuuuse you, TP is fucking ass. Compared to Wind Waker, Twilight Princess is a boring slog of a game that retreads OoT but does it all worse.
>>
I play over 10 hours a day on a 20+ year old mmo
>>
I have very low self esteem and I factor in how cool a game is when I buy it as in my mind thats a reflection of how cool I am and I also don't know how to get better

Trans characters are okay in games as long as they're hot. Turning trap characters trans, however, is cringe and gay.

Good on-topic post.
>>
I have only played Resident Evil 5 & 6 solo. I do not care if they are designed for co-op, I am not forcing myself to play a mainline Resident Evil game with friends. I will play that shit alone or not at all.
>>
>>736949934
I've beaten the main game of Origins but I'm putting off the DLC (never mind Odyssey or Valhalla) until I explore the entire map, because recreating ancient worlds you rarely see in vidya is one of the best things about the series.
I loved Mirage and beat it rather quickly, I didn't notice much of clever details that you're mentioning besides finding the Necronomicon and the body of the Mad Arab in the lost books sidequest. (The graphics were also a step down compared to Unity and Syndicate, disappointingly.)

Since it'll probably be a few years before I get up to playing it, would you mind also giving an example of this?
>>
>>736949389
Playing RE5 after RE4 left me deeply disappointed. It's been almost 20 years now so I can't explain why, but I didn't enjoy RE5.
>>
i like playing as a girl if given the option but I usually don't like games where the only option is a female protagonist
>>
>>736950271
>it's a JRPG for people who don't really like JRPG's
I don't care much for JRPGs and I dropped Chrono Trigger a few hours in. I did like Super Mario RPG well enough I suppose, which is kinda weird when you think about it.
>>
>>736950643
That's funny, like 80% of the games I play have female protagonists.
>>
>>736948771
I suck at ninja gaiden.
>>
>>736949121
I feel it's because it represents all the good aspects of 90's JRPGs. 10/10 music, memorable character designs by Akira Toriyama, beautiful sprite art, fascinating but short story (which means less filler) and a small twist to the turn-based formula. It's what people wish Square Enix was nowadays. Doesn't really hit the same if you've played a bunch of other RPGs before.

>as long as they're hot
No anon, what you want is a cute anime character. You won't like them if they're in a western game, even if they're designed to be hot.

>Since it'll probably be a few years before I get up to playing it, would you mind also giving an example of this?
For the hideouts, there's one in London where if you're running around at ground level or even on the second story rooftops you'll NEVER see it, but if you go out of your way to climb the aqueduct ruins that border the city that are like 5x as tall and have a look around you'll notice a ring of spiked tree trunks in swamp water hiding a pool tiled with the assassin symbol and you have to climb a specific tree to get juuuuuust far enough over the spikes to jump in.

A lot of the crypts and underground areas are full of very easily missable side rooms and hidden shortcuts, which if you're quick on the draw you enter a flowstate and feel like a sneaky assassin ghost moving about the place. Most of the larger settlements also have secret tunnels or gaps in the defences you can abuse if you take the time to properly scout places out. It's not like it's an incredibly hard game that neccessitates this level of thinking but it does reward you for caring. So much of the content in the game is just gonna completely whizz past the ears and eyes of someone just mashing the attack button and following waymarkers, I don't wanna spoil where you go but they really do push the boat out (haha) when it comes to shaking up where they send you in the world, it's mostly England but there's so much more than just England.

OH MAN THAT REMINDS ME, the way they handle one area in particular, and the way it's written is just fucking genius. If you have a witch move into your village, 100% do her quests ASAP.

Give me your discord and let me groom you, fag.
>>
>>736951131
Thanks Anon. You make me want to jump ahead and play Valhalla now, but since I haven't even purchased it yet, maybe I'll pick Origins back up.
>>
>>736951258
NTA but that reminds me of a good one - I would never have a Steam account had it not been for a /3dsg/ tranny trying to groom me. True story, back in like 2012 before anyone cared about this shit. Don't think I've ever told anyone before now.
