Mortal Kombat died as soon as X released. That one was barely okay, MK9 was the last amazing game. That's really all I personally have to say about the series. I just go back and replay the 3D era games. So much soul and fun to be had.

>>736950805the art direction and the story are worse so if you don't plan to play it against others it's safe to skip. if you do though I can say I don't regret getting it as well as all the characters including shang on discount. it's not as balanced as 11, seeing liu kang especially makes me seethe, but it's still pretty fun to play and kameos offer a bit of customization like choosing abilities did in 11. ermac and kenshi are pretty hard but they have puppet combos and pulling them off gives you a kind of dopamine rush no other mortal kombat offers and you can also steal your opponent's characters and beat the shit out of them as shang which is always fun
