What do you think about D.O.R.F.? Seems like cool RTS, I like big vehicle proportions which makes them reasonably bigger than infantry and many vehicles having multiple weapons. They have kickstarter now btw.
Yeah it seems like a cool RTS. It got a cool artstyle/concept which most modern RTS unfortunately lack.
From the first time I saw the gif of it here some years ago I knew I wanted to play the fuck out of it. That sentiment didn't change. Will buy it first day when it's out.
>>736959094I saw the trailer just recently, and I've since kept seeing clips of it online.Looks damn cool; essentially a indie Red Alert:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMMlmBPPsjwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufM7yQwpsGwhttps://www.youtube.com/shorts/zflGmOPhkrk
It looks great, been following it for a bit. Wonder how smoothly the infrastructure and logistics part of DORF will play out though.
I have been following the devs for years, so I supported the kickstarter
>>736960137I really like how they managed to emulate the feel of the classic C&C/Red Alert soundtracks. For example, Tempest Rising, another modern C&C clone failed at that and made the OST sound like something out of modern Doom despite having Klepacki on board.
>>736959094It should be better than red alert but it mwont
>>736959094Yea yea I already sent 63 quid your way on the Kickstarter I hope you get to you next stretch goal but honestly I think you'll be fine either way; OpenRA is not scary at all
>>736961036There is such a thing as too much production value Music like that in an RTS is like using an full Orchestra to play jazz; it just doesn't work
>>736961683>There is such a thing as too much production valueThis exactly. The best example of this might be the OST of the 2010's NieR, VS its 2023 HD remaster. Although there's more music in the new version, it feels all around more "flat" and generic. In general, many remakes and remasters seem to fall for this trap. The best OSTs were often composed by a single enthusiastic guy in his garage studio.
>>736961036Klepacki and friends did a fine job with the C&C remaster's OST, at least considered as an alternative option in the game if memory serves right.
>>736959940Anon, why not grab a digital-key pledge now on the kickstarter? Then you get a copy of the game at release, and it'll help the devs hire an extra team member right now. Best of both worlds.
well /v/ : which faction are you going to main?I keep leaning for Imperial or Collective, right up until I see the Warband's fucking wrecking ball. They just released a teaser of the unit today, the "Doomroller" https://www.youtube.com/shorts/GPYGUnsZWdsI want to make a wall of these that is as wide as the entire screen zoomed out and just annihilate every troop vehicle wall and building in a path a mile wide.
>>736959094C&C nostalgiabait, of coure it will sell well and play poorly
>>736959094seems badass, I'm looking forward to playing it
/agdg/ devs keep on winning
